Jealous of you and your generation, Zombie! I am too old for the plastic 3 wheelers although I tried to cram my grown up ass in those things when they came out!
Boy, those things looked like fun. Don't know how we got by without them! (Shopping Cart Wheels on a 2" by 6" for a skateboard just were not the same thrill.....)!!!

  2. LMFAO.

Those were good times to be a little kid for sure. My little one came home from the hospital in an FE powered '56 Effie, in her moms lap. No belts no baby seats. We did have a baby carrier in the bed for when we stopped to visit folks. ;)

In the early 70s I paid $700 for this one (in upstate New York) which was more than a month's salary. It was an amature restoration complete less interior. By the mid 70s nice sedans were going for about $1200 and nice coupes were a little more.

  4. Yep, bought it in June 1972 and still have it. Curently have 11 cars, 9 are '75 and older.

I have a picture in my head of a Kegger party in a field with Van Halen's Running with the Devil blasting from a Pioneer Super tuner. [IMG]

    How true.
Even more so in the 60's when I was a kid.

  6. Is the vette a '58 or 9? That has been my dream to own that body style vette for a very long time. granted I would not be allowed to go to the Corvette club outings with it but it would be a handfull and more fun than a bucket of worms.

That would be the Steve Miller band and we were playing those 8s'n'Aces. :D

  9. I could lear to live with that. The rear is different almost a stingray, but they still have the proper shape.

You could roll into a vintage race and run gas roadster or put the top on and run gas coupe. I got a monster here just waiting for that body. ;)

Give me a week to round up gas money and I'll get it out of your way for ya. :D:D

  10. Dont know if these are 60's or 70's or even why I still have them. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329418904.897018.jpg

  11. Late '60s early '70s. I bought some red white and blue bell bottoms in '68 just to screw with the sosch kids I went to school with.

  12. You sir are a brave man for admitting that you own them.

  13. Im sure i thought i was cool, I stand corrected.

  14. Hey wait a minute.... you're in Texas!

I thought there was a law in Texas that you can only wear "straight legs & boots"?!?! :D

I built my first hotrod in 70 a Buick powered 39 Ford deluxe coupe. Then a deuce roadster in 72 and been building deuces ever since. Started a family in 72 so never really got into the muscle car scene.

Yeah, and if you wrecked the worst thing you had to fear was your Mom smacking you for ripping a hole in your Toughskins...........and no one got sued. Anyone who thinks the world hasnt gone down hill in the last twenty years must have bumped their head.

Not in the 70's there wasn't, even in "Smalltown, Texas". Bellbottoms were cool----until you ran them through the belt drive of your bike.
Most folks around here still wear boot cut jeans, unless they're hardcore enough to tuck their jeans into their boots.

Hell yea! & six cylinder falcon converters in c-4s. Had one in my v-8 Pinto, is that '70s enough? As a guy who owns two 950 3bbls, multiple tunnel-rams, and a NOS Direct Connection Mini-Express, I rate this thread two thumbs up.

From 1980 I have been trying to forget the 70s but recently have been thinking about those years and how they were the best times of my life that I wanted to forget.

Wow this brings back great memorys about my first true Hi Po car a 1965 Plymouth Satleite In 1971 my 383 powered four speed Satelite was jacked up in the rear with spring shackles I even cranked up the front torsion bars to raise the front end. Remember how easy it was to raise the front ends of thsoe Mopars? I would try to bang gears as if I was Ronnie Sox Lots of times it actully worked man life was good driving that car.
In 73 I got my Deuce roadster and been playing with Hot Rods ever since. But in the garage is another Mopar a 1967 Dodge Coronet memorys of Ronnie Sox and wild Bill Flyn are still in my head one day an elephant will rock the neighbors. With an automatic instead of a four speed so Laura can light em up wheneven the need presents its self.
