I'm trying to decide if the cowl modification is worth it. I think it makes a big difference in the flow of vertical lines. The bottom of the cowl is stretched 2" forward in pic # 2.
When the firewall gets reversed, ya kinda loose some girth there.

  4. See that's how subtle the change is.

Took me about 15 passes to figure out what the hell is different, but I finally see it. If forced, I like the first better...but also wonder if its that subtle, is it worth the time to do?

I fully appreciate attention to detail, but somethings will just be lost.

I would leave it alone. My mind knows what that is supposed to look like and when it is diffrent I'm drawn to that area trying to figure out what is "wrong."

But, the whole area would look diffrent with or without a hood sides...

The car looks kick ass by the way. Nice swoopy frame rails and the lower cowl panel looks right at home with the frame.

    Nice work, -Abone.

    I agree with Jeff K.

  17. I was thinking that in stock form it shows the rake a little too much right there with out the fire wall extending past the cowl. Looks kind of odd, top heavy cowl and.... well thats why I'm asking. Certainly not after the broken back look. The proposed addition follows what the profile of the fire wall would have been except for the toe board return. I would add the piece behind the detail and retain all of the leading cowl edge, just move the bottom edge or swing it forward. It's a 0 to 2" over 22" pie piece.

    Thanks for the compliments guys.

  18. OK cool! You could put an angled 'lump' in each side of the bottom of the firewall like a 32, that would knock off the rake look a little.

    1.

If you want to lengthen the cowl, I'd to that behind the vertical characterline not in front of it.
