Ok guys and gals- how about a contest?

We're heading out to Vintage Hotrod in California, to see John Beck, and have him dyno the engine on March 12th.

So, I thought we'd see what HP everyone thought this engine would make. For those who haven't seen the build, here it is:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=496866

The contest is simple- The person who comes closest on guessing the HP the engine makes on the dyno, wins a FlatCad tee shirt.

The person that comes closest on the torque wins a tee shirt.

If the same person gets the HP and torque right, they will win a shirt, and a Flatcad print. We'll cap the contest off with the dyno video, showing the max numbers.

    So, let's hear some guesses!

You guys are pretty optimistic, considering it's a 72 year old flathead!

... but I hope these high numbers are right!

Oh, ye of little faith! It ain't the age, its the parts and the high level of craftsmanship that has us believing I think. If Cadillac built their engine blocks as stout back then as they did later on (high nickel content etc) I do believe the old girl will do just fine.

Haha! Oh, I have faith, but I also know the engine's weaknesses!

It'll make good power, but how much I don't know!

Well, look at it this way, you can only blow the crank out the bottom of the block once...oh, I guess that don't help much huh?:D
