I'll join this thread because I've been a lifelong Mopar fan - raised with them and raced them on Calif dragstrips in the '60s and early 70s. If any of you are interested in photos that I took of famous Mopar SS'ers from the 60's such as "The Melrose Missile", Milne Bros, Hayden Proffett, Shirley Shahan, etc., check out the '62 - '65 Superstock Mopar picture thread, P35 and following......... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252583&highlight=nhra&page=35 If you are interested in Nascar Mopars of that era, I posted numerous photos and newspaper articles on the Historic Stock Car photos thread.
Sorry........the link for the stock car thread (my postings start on P149) is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289913&page=153 This thread is 275 pages long (and counting) so it'll take you awhile to get through it.
Accidently a MOPAR guy I think. Wife decided she absolutely "needed" an SRT8 Charger...still not sure for what. The daughter wanted an old truck to build for her first ride and a '56 kinda feel in my lap. And when I get home from this trip I'll be the proud owner of a Durango R/T. Not sure how it happened, nobody in my family ever owned a Dodge. You don't always find cars, sometimes they find you...
I remember those ads too. We used to listen to WLS and Dick Biondi while "draging the gut" in the early '60's. Radio would fade in and out occasionally, but those "Grand Spaulding" commercials were cool. However I had a '62 409 at the time...
I've got/had some OT muscle cars but I've got this too. Can't believe it hasn't moved for over 20 years now. Was running/driving when parked. All original except the wheels on it, and we've got the originals stashed away too. As far as we know the odometer mileage is correct and hasn't rolled over.
i have always been a mopar nut. i have dodge cars and trucks. my son restored a 69 super bee just in time to graduate from high school then take it on the power tour. i did get my high school hot rod back recently a 66 chevelle. i know i know my son won't even look at it. we have a lot of fun racing and restoring mopars. don't be upset with the guys that drive non mopars someone has to drive the crap we beat.

My Mopar eats Fords and shits chevy's. Mopar runs through mine and my dads blood. My grandpa bought a brand new Plum crazy 1970 Challenger R/T S/E Hemi, 4spd.If I remember right it was one of only 26 cars made. The car is now owned by some guy on the east coast. It is Hemming's and Goodguy's muscle car of the year. Still have old school photo's of it from the early 70's when it was jacked up and had slicks off of a funny car on it. Here is some pictures of my dad's 37 Chrysler coupe aka" The Rat Killer" .... chevy people fuckin hate it . Also a 49 Dodge me and him put together and my dad's 70 Superbee Here is a link to his form on here about the 37. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=639750

My first car was a 1960 Dodge Seneca. Slant six-three on the tree. That was in 1970. Then a 69 Belvedere, 72 Charger, 69 Road Runner, 2 - 65 Belvederes. We now drive a Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. I drive an 87 Plymouth Caravelle to work and am building a 67 Valiant with a 57 Desoto hemi. 2 more Desoto hemis in the shed. Just sold a 68 Valiant and 1 65 Belvedere.
Got different ones across the big three, but ive always loved a mopar! gotta 57 desoto as well no where near the above but it has potential
Nice 69. I've thought about using a Weiand on my old racer returning to the street. Does it fit well under the hood with the air cleaner on? My car is a half-year car, so I have the factory 'glass hood and pan type air cleaner.
