It's the stock front suspension, with a one inch spacer on top of some different springs. The factory springs are a 4 inch diameter coil just like a mustang ll, had some extra springs that I was swapping in my truck which has a mustang front. It's a thinner coil with extra wraps, I was sold on them when on the seventh bounce the front wheels came off the ground when checking suspension travel !
The cheap/fast mufflers worked pretty darn good <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TKw8oq6fe9c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not a whole lot going on with the Henry lately, I wired up the line lock and used an old VAC red light I had on the shelf. I also took the time to wire tie the wires again since all that is done and put the shifter cover over the shifter. I also switched to a Hurst T handle from the round ball that was on there too. The glass guy was over on Monday and cut the quarter window out to make a new one since the old was cracked. The racing stickers pretty much was holding it together. I did get a picture e-mailed to me that was taken last year for our car club calendar shoot, it didn't make the calendar...lol
If all goes well buddy, I'm still a little leary until it proves it can take it. I was just talking with the little woman about throwing some tax money on the side to pay for the trip. I sure hope to get there for sure !
There's still room at the Sleep Inn! Me, Jeff C., Double A Al and I'm sure others will be staying there.
Spent some time in the garage today, I lost the bracket that keeps the throttle linkage from turning when stepping on the gas. So I made one, a little lip on one side to lock it into the bracket, and lip on the other side to soften the fuel line interference. I welded a couple nuts on the bottom for the set screw, spaced the nuts to help keep the set screw from dog legging to one side. Here it is installed and a jam nut added to the set screw, works great !
I also bolted on one of the peep mirrors I bought at last weekends swapmeet, still getting a feal for it. I didn't have a dash script so I bought a stainless laser cut script for 9 bucks of e-bay. I just added magnet from one of those ribbon things you stick on the back of a car with double side tape. It's a little bigger than stock but looks ok to me. I wired the line lock the other day and it glows, also put the shifter cover back on. I even made this cage net for the hood hinge...lol
I'll have to wait and see what it looks like out of the garage before I make up my mind. I do like it and looks a ton better there than on the rain gutter where it's susposed to go.
"I'll have to wait and see what it looks like out of the garage before I make up my mind." LOL I thought I was the only one that couldn't tell how something looked until I got it outside. Looking good , Phil.
Got one rocker on, hard to get them to fit just right but nothing on this car "fits just right" So it looks right at home ! it sure makes the previous owners poor door patch look worse from this angle and one front end shot.......just because I was digging it !
Thanks Art, I was staging a garage race out there today while turning the Henry around to do that other rocker. I couldn't find any hot flag girls walking by though....lol
Looks Good Phil! Cant wait to see it in person at the Show. And dont worry, we'll find you a Flag Girl for ya Phil...I'm determined... haha!
After searching the net trying to find a plain scoop cover and almost buying the black mooneyes one, I just hand sewn my own. Learned a little and probably would have did a couple things different but it fits pretty good. I started off with a bent fishing hook and fishing line, then made the trip to the craft store for a needle and thick thread. Ya know you can heat a fish hook cherry red and bend it any shape ya want.....lol The trials of doing stuff yourself and learning are a chore sometimes.
Thanks guys, picked up a new fire extinguisher today, so that will be going in next after I settle on a good location. I'm still thinking of adding in a passenger seat with a tilt forward function. I have an idea of how I can make this work with the other racing bucket I have. I'm trying to work out the front piviot and shear points on the mounting pins in my head.
Great car Phil, and I applaud your sticking to it after the engine blew! That sort of thing can really get most people down! Like that cover for the scoop too! I've been looking or one for my Austin, but maybe I'll try sewing one too!
