A Hot Rod is never "Done" just ordered my Louvered one piece hood top from Rootlieb. http://www.rootlieb.com/html_files/v8_34_hds/v8_34_hds.html
The hood top is about the ONLY thing I could think of that would make this car better. I think almost all model 40's look better with a hood top.
I agree totally..It was the one thing that was missing. It was part of my original plan. The shape of the body on 33/34's look much better with a hood top.I think 32's can pull off the hoodless look a bit better in my opinion.
Yup, the deuce grill has a nice surround that hides the radiator. The '33 and '34 grill just doesn't look "right" without a hood top.
depends on the car I think... I don't even mind the rad poking out, sort of an imperfect mechanical elegance... wabi sabi... sez the guy with a full-hooded 34. But Marcus, your car will look great with that hood top, no doubt!
I like the fact I can leave it off if I want.Drive it with it on and remove it at a show, etc..Always good to change it up a bit..
Hey Marcus, I been on the H.A.M.B for a while I will check out my latter posts and get back to you. willybobs36@aol.com
I think all the mechanical issues on the 34 are finally resolved,, for now anyways..Both Rear Axle Seals were leaking from having the incorrect seals in it.Pinched rear p***enger Brake line was discovered too.The 34 now has Exhaust Cut outs,Chrome dump tubes..Sounds like a Dragster with them open. Will make a video soon...Also changed the steering wheel to a white vinyl 15" Wheel, so now my knuckles don't hit the dash when I drive it.Installed a front spreader bar,and changed the front shocks to Chrome Covered shocks. And had the spray chromed pitman arm Chrome plated. Also have a functioning Fuel Gauge now after having it sent out to work with 12V and a 240/33 OHM Sending unit.
Looking good!!! It's amazing how man cars need to switch steering wheels to smaller ones because if space issues when the cars came with 17" steering wheels from the get go right? How big was the one you had? I'm gonna runa 17" in mine hopefully...
I had a stock Size 17" 40 Ford Wheel in it.I should have ordered a longer column from Limeworks.Plus the Black wheel wasn't doing it for me, I was thinking of painting it white.Im happy with this 15", so much nicer for me to drive.
Gotcha!! Ya know what, when I installed the seat in my '35 with the steering wheels and door panels everything was pretty damn tight. I couldn't believe how little room there was between the seat that the steering wheel. Had to get creative there and ended up getting some good info about creating space from Josh Mills. I agree the white steering wheel is where it's at!!!!
Thanks, I wanted a new Bob Drake Chrome Grille, the original grille was pretty nice, I had it professionally Cosmichromed at Sacramento Chrome and Paint, looked good, just being picky.I have the old grille on Ebay right now actually.
Off to Vegas for Viva..The 34 is in the new Old Skool Rodz and Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated under the GNRS Coverage
Damn Came along way in the 34 looks great! hell seen awhile back you were looking for a body guy to bad i didnt catch you sooner im done a hand full of cars ha maybe next time bud!
