What's the best thing you learned on the h.a.m.b.?

When there is a will, there is a way.

Have the courage to post a "How to Question," and the H.A.M.B. will come to the rescue with an answer or a solution.

That I've eaten so much crow, that I've gotten to where I kinda like it!

That there are folks on the HAMB who are truley experts in any field of automotive technology and fabrication and those same people are more than willing to share that knowledge, and in my case, I need all the help I can get.

Oh yeah.....one more thing...I think PorknBeaner must sleep by his computer or have some mysterious/magical way to mentally post when an answer is most needed.
I have a T-shirt that says "What would PorknBeaner do?

  8. I have learned new ways to read and write the English language - and it's nothing like they taught in school

I have learned to read sentences so damn long that I had to stop and take a breath.

I have learned that there are a whole lot of F'd up folks out there trying to build stuff that might kill them, or someone else. But that there are also some really talented dudes on here that we wouldn't have known about otherwise.

I have learned that I can make some new good friends just by typing, hopefully ones that will remain that way regardless of what happens on the HAMB - Guys like Mazooma, Dean Lowe, Special Ed, Finch, Toby, Shoprat Ron, El Polacko, Even the Beaner - and many others

I have learned I have a Cousin I never Knew - Hi Brucie

I have learned that I have the right to keep my mouth shut when stupid things are said - but usually not the Ability.

  9. I have learned that preceding a post title with "O/T, but" is the HAMB equivalent of saying "Scuse me" just before cutting a beer fart in a coupe.

I learned that Squirrel cannot be stumped. He deserves his own show; "Stump the Squirrel."

The Iron Lords of N.C. have a strange way of showing support to each other.

A guy with a just-above minimum wage job can afford multiple early Fords.

But I learned that there are actually car shows that host specific type cars that fit in my taste better than GG and NSRA ever will (LSRU this year will be my first), the knowledge on here and history is richer than any other forum, and the people here are second to none.

I learned a lot about what it takes to build a truly traditional car and I'm putting that to use.

Oh, and that this crowd is spilt between three categories.

    1. Other-brand cell phone users or no cell phones.
    2. Android-users.
    3. iPhone-users.

And us iPhone users have it good. :D

Like you I have discovered a lot of real good folks here. There are folks that treat me like a prince, I am not always easy to get along with and they treat me that way anyway.

Few people in the world will treat you well on a good day and the ones that treat you well on a bad day are worth their weight in gold.

I have taken a lot from the HAMB in new knowledge, but to just leave this place with the new found friends I have left with more than I have given.

I've learned that there are many on this board that can take a rusted out shell of a car, that doesn't even look to be acceptable scrap for recycling in a steel blast furnace, and make a shining, rumbling work of art out of it!
They save what the restorers pass on.

I've learned several things here. First-- I realize just how much I miss my old '41 Willys Coupe from high school days. Second -- I'm not the only one with this sickness. Third -- There are a lot of fine people livin' on this site. And last -- No matter where you go ----There you are.

Don't eat yellow snow! - Wait, I might have learned that from Zappa.

Oh yeah, compared to many on this board I'm a talentless hack! :D

I have learned there is a ton of talent, post often and post fast or the thread will disapear fast like pages away, sometimes it is better to say nothing, many are not shy to say what they think, many have moved to other forums because they say the got bitch slapped on this one, always think about what you are about to post, take critasim with a grain of salt, listen well to the wisdom of others it is free advise. try hard to stay out of a pissing match you will never win or have the last word..Hey it is a great site and I for one have learned a wealth of knowledge on here.

Now I'll admit it's been a long time since I've been to a strip club, and times have changed... but who takes a laptop to a strip club? I thought you went to a strip club to get your lap topped...

I learned that if spent as much time in my shop as I do on this Damn computer, I'd be driving ALL my projects. But then, I'd still need all you folks for info to get them on the road. Thanx.

And not to refer to the HAMB if you have a question about the correct spelling of a word.

This is just part of getting old. Right around the time you have been around long enough to know what you are talking about, you start having trouble remembering what you are talking about.
