Mac, I had it for sale for quite a while , and finally did some trading for it. A young guy from a few towns over already has it all torn down!

Well, being up by the salt water took its toll on the body. All of us kids had grown up so my mom and dad got a nice pickup with a slide in...being old yanks we never get rid of anything and thats where it sat...it is, sadly, gone now...

I think Mac was asking about the touring behind the pickup.

That 1926 LaFrance is beautiful! Thank goodness you were able to save it! What is the plan to do with it? It is a shame about some of the others though :(, they looked pretty clean still...

Here's some cars sitting around me:

  11. Cedartown GA FD has a '48 LaFrance open-cab pumper truck identical to the one in the picture with the vines growing over it. It's in running condition, just used for parades and special occasions now. Also Cartersville GA still has its first motorized fire engine, a 1918 American LaFrance pumper, also in running condition, used for parades and has been used for funerals of retired firefighters.

Very cool! Everyone says I'm insane for dreaming of owning a chain drive era laFrance. I find that as rare as everyone thinks they are, too, they still pop up around quite often if you look hard enough... I've been looking around for a project for a while now.

Dayum, looks like 2 gallons of gas, a quart of 30w and a push start is all it needs!

The second car in is a 47 merc. If you make it back up there, and want to make a couple of bucks, I'd be interested to know the condition of the hood ornament (pitted or not) and price. I'd also be interested in the grill sitting on top of the hood.

I'd attempt to save all those convertible parts to convert a 2 door.

This is a 52/53 Merc. Any useable parts left?

Axe Grinder, I'll bet this Fury was a sight to behold in its day. Sheesh, what I'd give for those swept-back antennas, if I just had money! :( Hard to come by nowadays.

  28. Where was this picture taken? Looks like a fair amount of foreign cars mixed in with the '50s American cars.
