    Thanks for your replay guys:)

Things have been quite busy latly, but looks like I'm back on track:)
A litle challenge has come up, as the guy that where helping out with the gaskets, hasn't got the time to finish it, bummer:(!
So now we need to find someone else, but that should work out:)

Hope to make the new headers this weekend, same for new engine motor mounts (front), then take the engine out one more time:eek:!?

Then repaint, then final essembly, Then fire it up!?:D

Here are some pictures taken yesterday.

    Thanks guys:)
Allthough things are slow, i have managed to get some done in a couple of days:) Have finally tacked the exhaust pipes in place, i hope. Was timeconsuming as he..ll, i have just two hands:eek::D!

Also made a new fuel shut-off bracket, thinks it looks better than the old one in the chassis.

    Thanks Tim:)

Here are some illustrations, if they make any sense.
I would have used the French timing cover, as they have a more even
front face, where you need to add some material.
I threaded the short 7/16" Hex bolt on the nose of the 8BA style cam.
If you have a 59A style cam, you can order a new nose with a 3/8" hex end to match the fuel pump axel. I think Tony Baron and Flathead Jack has it.

Did the final trimming on the body panels to fit the frame mod's today.
So out the engine goes again, and next up is prep for final paint:D!
Grinder1 got hold of a new guy, that's going to make the new head and intake gaskets, mayby in a weeks time:)!

    Thanks Buddy:)

I will not take all credit for the work on the Sidewinder.
    Grinder1 is the master fabricator:)!
We are so lucky to have great friend the makes dreams come true:)!

I'm also thankful to the Smith Bros, who have let me use their shop to build the Sidewinder. Couldn't have done this without them!

Thanks Carl, and yes the home build aspect is the best part.
And this is what Hot Rodding really is all about, not just having alot of greens pointing the finger and buying a car or bike from the shelf.
And for me, I learn new stuff every day, reading stuff here on the Hamb and talking to my teatcher Grinder1:D!
    Thanks for the inspiration Carl:)

Could not have done it without you!
Best of friend, personal teatcher, Crew-chief! Hell we should marry:D!

Yea Buddy, I'm lucky to have friends as Grinder1, but also expensive:D!
When I told him some years ago, that I was planning to build a SBF for the dragster, he just told me; NO WAY, Boring engine, help your self. So he got me fired up, so we started planning the "Killer":D!
    Still Friends:)!

    Well guys, a litle slow progress, but we have actually done some;

-Prepping the frame once more, OK
-Decoliner shot paint on the frame, OK
-Polished the engine plates, mounted, OK
-Mounted the fuel shutoff cable, OK
-Milling down the Chevy magneto to fit the flathead, OK
-Inspecting the tranny, then back into the rail, OK
-Making a new lower seat, to be able to sit deep down in the
    chassis. Clearence OK
    -Modify battery case, OK
    -Headers welded, OK
-locate all the parts, seems like they are all there:)!

Next up, get the engine back into the chassis.
-Mount all the hoses and wires
    -Finish grinding the heads
    -Grind and polish headers
-make new breather-tubes on the intake.
-Make a new oil filler tube.
-Get the new head and intake gaskets
    -Setup the injection.
    -Fill oil, water, and fuel
Then we might get to fire her up:D!?

I will take some pictures when i get back to it.

Had a wrap-up with Grinder1 today, and he whent home with more stuff under his arms:D! Found out that the old blower tensioner interfered with the new magneto, so we need to make a new solution.

After talking to Dale and mr.Hanson we have now desided to cancel all plans for O-ringing the heads. The solution is to use special Cometic head gaskets.

So this easter i'll be living in the garage:D!

Kjell, how much boost are you planning? When I talked to Jimmy Stevens, and Ron Main, they said they didn't need o-rings until after about 15lbs boost-in fact, they warned against it, as it then becomes that much harder to seal the water jackets.

We o-ringed mine, but I'm not sure we should of, because of the water issue. I'll tell you more after the dyno next month, and El Mirage in May-hopefully, it was the right decision!

The build is looking great, and I'm looking forward to beers with you, at Mo-Kan!

Buddy, we are going to start with a setup that would give us approx. 15-20 psi of boost. And after talking to B&S and my Swedish friend, we have ordered a set of Cometic.

We are planning to go to Mo-Kan the first week, me, wife, doughter and son in law:) Have a cold one ready:)!

I'm abit sceared:) Don't see much !! Think I just have to aim:eek:

    Thanks Carl:)

Back from yet another evening in the garage.
As I'm going to deliver the intake to Grinder1 tomorrow for the final
    fittings, I have a question for you guys;

Do you think I will let enough crank case pressure relived by taken it out both in the front and back of the intake?

  24. If thats an 8BA block Kjell use the front if you have the tube that connects to the manifold that way you will be taking the negative pressure from the crankcase and not the valley that will put a negative pressure on the lower side of the rings............

    ps.........looks bitchin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

psps....did you guys make the front snout for the blower....... looks great

Carl, the French block does not have the tube up front, actually it's a tube from the fuelpump/oilfiller in the back of the intake.
I think I can fit a tube up front, and that might be enough for wenting the fumes and pressure. We wil also consider a wentilation fitting on the crankcase, just to be shure.

The blower are all homemade, Grinder1 style:)! I'm don't like the CNC moder style that much, and Roger came up with this:)!
He has an eye for details and design for shure:D!

I met up with Roger at Throwhill Easter party last nigt, to deliver the intake and blower.
My jaws dropped to my knees, and i started drooling when i saw this....!

Thanks Dale for the information on the Blowers:)
I forwarded it to to owner of the engines, and he was happy you send it:)
He's actually planning on taking the 34 cupe to Bonneville in 2014!

With nothing special to do at easter evening, I thought I could do something useful. Started to make a new chutepack to fit the color of the scallops better then a black pack.
Luckily I had som silver-pearl naugahyde in storage, so off i whent..!
Got most done this morning, so now i just need some eyelets to finish it.
After 20 years of rest, just blowing some dust of my old Pfaff 360,
    it did the jobb:D!
