Here is mine after last weekend. A little further along now, I did manage to break a hood hinge. (Don't ask how) Got one side of the bed stripped to bare metal and in primer, got some extra farner holes to weld up on the bed, they flame cut fender mounting holes for some later model fenders. I paid $2000 for it with a new Mustang II front end, chassis engineering rear, rebuilt 302. It didn't have a bed and was missing a rear fender.

  5. Richard D, that's a stock 40-41 hood with center seam filled and they removed the chrome nose piece also, most likely has a hood latch under the dash. That's a 40-41 Standard grill.

    Mine:

Yes it's rusty, no it won't be staying like that.
Also the frame was really far gone and rusted through in places, axles were mismatched and 21-stud wouldn't turn over....so...it got a frame swap (I know!) onto a licensed Mazda B-series pick-up I had with 351W & T5. Not really HAMB material, but here it is anyways...

It may be a 40 hood but it has a 41 badge

  10. Chris, my eyes are seeing a "Ford" script, and not the '41 badge.

  11. Here's my '41. I built it to the memory of my wife with a Cancer Awareness theme.

300hp SBC 350, M-20 or T-5, Ford 8.8" or 9", 2" drop, probably flat midnight blue with black interior and dark blue bench. Keeping it very simple.

  19. One of my all time favorites. Yellow version first built buy Dick Carroll, and used as his daily driver "work truck" as a carpenter, with orange steelies. Current owner and rebuilder, Gary Opitz, of the StL area. Gary also has one of my favorite '40 Deluxe Coupes!

  20. CW's40TPU,

Thanks for comments, the lettering and pin stripping will happen, there's only a few north of the border that I know of and their all at least 200 miles away, so it takes time to set all this up. Soon I hope!

  21. One of my all time favorites...Mike Fennel's '40 pickup.

  22. This is an old photo of a 40-41 PU used as a shop and tow truck for the Sprint Car. I think it's a really cool setup. This race track is Southern Ascot back in the late 40's, located in the city of South Gate at Atlantic & Tweedy Blvd's. Train bridge in the background goes over the L.A.River, bridge is still there but the track is long gone.

Here's mine...It's a 13 year project so far. It would be done except I blew too much money on the kid's tuition and groceries. It's being painted as we speak. I have some of the parts back from the body shop already as you can see.
