I found out about this stash of old cars accidentally about 2 years ago. They are like 800 yards from my house in a draw. They can't been seen from the road , So I never would have guessed.
I was asking my nebighor if he knew about any old cars... He paused and said " Have you looked over in the junkyard?" I asked him what he meant and he instructed me to go through a gate and follow a trail to this draw... When I did I was blown away all htis stuff from 1929 or so to a 92 chevy pichk up! He told me this is where we put em when they arn't worth fixin anymore!
I tried to buy the 53 dodge royal with a 241 and he finally told me to go get it! That was a year ago when I got it.
I saw him today and I said " Hey when are you gonna sell me those old cars?" He laughed and said " go get em , at least you seem to get a little good out of them! " SO a deal and a hand shake and I am the owner f the junk cars in the pile!
Several of the cars Are complete enough to be a project car for someone, While others will donate whatever good they have left and then be scrapped:( Don't burn m yet, I am not gonna make a killing on these parts or cars, Just gonna save what is usefull and help pat for my projest while I'm at it!

Here are some pics , feel free to correct me on the years of these cars. Oh and The royal is long gone but here is the rest!

The taillamps off that 39 Plymouth are easily worth $100 each if in good shape.

There is also a mid 30's chevy truck frame, and a 50's internatonal 1 ton or so delevery van ( it's probablly staying though )

  5. Nice find, you must be living right. Several HAMBers will "get a little good out of them" and keep you moving forward on your own.

    Mastergun, that's an impressive find!

It's hard to tell from the pics alone, but with the weather I'd imagine that more than a couple of those cars are worth some money as projects. If you decide to pull a couple out of the draw and get them up to the road where they can pull some money, give me a call. I'll work for parts! :)

    The 2 door Pontiac is a '52, the Chev truck is a '42 or a '45 - early '46. Fastback Plymouth is a '51 or '52. The green 4 door on it's roof is a '53 Pontiac.

Well that just flat works. And I learned long ago that if it looks dumb but works, it just can't be that dumb.

Serious on the offer, though. It would nearly be worth a day's work just to see something like that.

    Nearly. :)

    Thanks for clearig that up!

  24. Pontiac is a '52. Looks plenty buildable. Same on the Olds, it's a '62, damn near impossible to find one of those around here. Probably has a bad trans in it, should have a slim-jim.

Chevy coupe looks to be a '40; too bad it's wadded up, but there looks like there's some donor panels you could cut out of it.

    Merc is a '59.

Plymouths you have backwards, coupe is 46-48, fastback is 49-52.

That '50s International van might be worth trying to sell, too, that's something else that was once common and now is difficult to find.

Even the rough stuff looks pretty solid, take your time and figure to cut out a lot of donor tin and you should make a killing on them. Just to give you an idea, if I had to replace the floor in a 53-54 Chevy with repro stuff, front to back just the mounts and floorpans, I'd spend over $1500, so buying chunks sawzalled out of that used floor for half the price is going to look like a super bargain. And that's a car that they actually reproduce tin for, some of those they don't.

ahnks for the advise , yes those 2 cars would need work ( and floor pans ) They are gonna be sold whole or not at all! The 39 plymouth grill will probablly get a new homw on the wall of my shop in good company od other grills! I hope I can help a lot of folks! I do wanna mkae enought to make up for the time I'll spend doing this! I normally do ok parting stuff out but It's always been 1 car at a time , never a whole draw full!
