I have been enjoying your build updates. Your car is really looking good. I have 2 questions for you. The front crossmember 1" drop or ? And what front spring are you using? I love the way your roadster sits.

Hmm, at this point I don't recall how much the front crossmember is dropped. You or I would have to check with Gary from Blackboard Hot Rods (that built the frame) to see who's front crossmembers he uses.

The front spring is a Posies spring, the same as the Rolling Bones guys use. I *think* it's 29" wide. Will have to check through old invoices for the part number.

  5. Nick, I have been watching this build for some time. Just had to get onboard and let you know how out of site I think this hot rod is. I like your new choice of colors and the tail light treatment looks great. I just helped a good friend with the same problem on his deuce. We took org 37 stands and cut them to fit the frame rail.
You had talked about going to Bonnaville this year. You should hook up with the bones boys & myself. They will be at my shop Aug 6th and we will leave from here after a lunch. Fun bunch to hit the road with.

  6. Looks really great Nick, I love the tail light treatment. I'm with those in awe of your metal skills. I also now want your C-10. I looked at one in West Point and would love to get it.
You have good taste in vehicles man, but then, everyone already knew that ...

  7. Holy doodle its lookin killer Nick! Man oh man you gotts be stoked eh!

Beautiful roadster. Love the valve cover rear wheel chock in the photo above. This is one of the build threads I look forward to reading. Great skills.

    Who made that panel?
It looks nice did it fit good out of the box.
I have a dent in mine. It's has a little oil can to it. So I am thinking just start new but if it needs a lot of work I will just do the work to mine

The rear tail panel is from Brookville. It does fit very good without any modification. I had planned on fixing/patching/straightening the old one, but for only $65 it was an easy decision to replace it! One thing I do still have to do is drill the holes to bolt it in. I'm guessing they don't come pre-drilled becuase there may have been some differences in the factory Ford panels.

That was a good buy. Shop rate of $65 an hour wouldn't get that panel built.

Malcolm, I haven't posted on the H.A.M.B. for awhile but it is sure nice to see the progress on your roadster. I'm sure you have been told that you have an "eye" for the awesome details that make or break a project. Your car looks fantastic.....thanks for the revised post. Gary

  27. Car is looking so killer man.

I've never been a big fan of stretched hoods on model A's...but with that windshield it just looks so perfect. Long, low, stretched...looks like its going fast standing still!

Unreal job. You've created the formula for the perfect roadster...IMHO

Thanks, guys/gals... it sure has taken a while to get this far!

This afternoon I decided to work on filling the dash and start metal-finishing it.
Many years ago, before I could even drive, my dad started teaching me how to use a hammer, dollie, and file. He also has a couple bullseye tools/picks that would come in very handy right now. I'm reminded how much time and patience this stuff takes!

Will be cutting new holes to install a set of Mooneyes gauges.

A few photos of the progress....

I'm not the best at welding, but I get the job done...
