What is that Ford in the lower right? I've never seen trim like that.

  26. Or how about making up an entirely ficticious brand with it's own emblems and colors. Try to make it sort of resemble one or more actual brands so it fools and confuses some. ??

  27. Me too! First time I had seen a front mounted blower! I didn't know twas a real car until much later....I remember that model vividly! I tink I was 12....

Well I'll be DANG! That was Raymond Parks' gas station. He had many, but this was one of his main ones. Long story short, Raymond was one of the richest men in Atlanta by the late 30's - by moonshine, the number business (illegal lottery) by service stations, novelty machine, liquor stores, etc. He owned the car that his cousin Lloyd Seay drove to the first organized stock car race in the state in 1938 at Lakewood Speedway. Fast Forward 10 years, he was instrumental in the formation of Nascar. Big Bill came to him to get money as Bill was dirt poor before nascar. Bill even drove some of Raymond's cars on occasion including a Graham.

He passed away in June of 2010 at the age of 96. You can learn more about him from this article I wrote back last June....http://stockcar.racersreunion.com/profiles/blogs/the-godfather-of-southern-auto

    Thanks for posting!

IIRC this was not confined to a special model just an alternate trim choice. There was a recession in '58 and car sales really died off. My older cousin was living with us and selling Oldsmobiles in Beverly Hills. The dealers and car makers were trying anything to stimulate sales and Ford started offering a couple of alternate side trims in an effort to increase appeal and move some cars.
