Thanks guys, I just hope this whole engine thing is behind me (knock on wood). I'm looking forward to this upcoming racing season and giving her hell on more time.
If I didn't get this car back together, I would have two in the garage taking up space that couldn't be used and that's not good.

Really impressi.ve build, Phil. Hope I get to see it run this summer. Then, eventually, a race between you & Ford Freak.........a battle of the J's !

Well I pulled out the Lexan door windows and replaced them with yellow tinted plexiglass today. I also had my first shot at tinting windows, I did both rear quarter windows to match. Tomorrow I hope to get the rear and vent windows then that project will be done.
I'm still thinking about that passenger seat but I only have 5 days before the load in day at the local car show. It might have to wait.

I think his will be just a tad faster than mine, but the line up would be cool.

Plexiglass? Doesn't that stuff break into sharp pieces?

Yup, just like your glass in the daily driver, lets hope we don't have to test it. I never knew the other stuff was polycarbonate (Lexan) until I took it with me. I was surprised to say the least.

Finished the rear windows, back glass did not work so well. The concave shape made it impossible to not have a wrinkle or air bubble. I tried it about a 1/2 dozen times then finaly knew I was beat and just***** canned it.

There are some tricks to that. You can find them on youtube.

Guess I should have did more homework. I even told my girlfriend that you can shrink metal but plastic film would shrink with heat but would probably melt. I never thought about forming it over from the outside with the protective coating still on it.

I made a hood prop today, rather simple but it's function is a blessing to not have to jocky a stick around.
It's the silver rod next to the radiator core support, heated and bent one end close to a 90*.

I found a nylon bushing to slip over the rod and used lightwieght nylon line clamps. I also threaded that end to put the washer and nut on to keep it from slipping out.

The other end I also used the same nylon line clamp to hold the end, it does not rattle. I capped that end of the rod with a vaccume cap.

    and closed

Thanks guys, Jeff there is one on the other side, gotta keep it level can't have one side with more horse than the other.
That devil sticker looks good from the front on that scoop cover but not at an angle with the Champions. I might reconsider that one.

Here's the J at the show, probably getting to the last of the posts on this car. It's got that back alley brawler look which is what I was after so lets call it done. Probably finish wiring it for the street so I can run around a bit with it when not at the track.
Thanks for all the comments, help and ideas along the journey guys, Philip

Thanks, glad you guys like it. I am having some caliper brackets being made as we speak but that's just bolt on bologny to get disc brakes. That and tweaking my slip on exhaust for street use plus a turn signal switch, tire change and streets here I come...moooohoooohaaaahaaaaahaaaaa

Let's here a sound bite once you make the exhaust! What mufflers are you using?

  24. Think of how much more you'll enjoy it when you can get more use out of it!

Back on page 20 I made some cheap (7 bucks) slip on exhaust. I'm still cheap so most likely will just use that, I need to gain some ground clearence with it though.
video sound bite I guess http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKw8oq6fe9c&feature=player_embedded
