I know someone here that sells em cheap. $22 for flattie mounts. Trans mounts I'm not so sure. His name is Bruce at southern traditional hot rod parts, ill have to dig up his number.

Okay, so engine is moved a half inch forward and that is where it will stay...:) It's a inch between the rear face of the crossmember and the front face of the motor mounts. I'm waiting on some parts I ordered, engine and trans mounts mainly to replace the old ****ty ones I have...just to make sure.... Looking at things with the top of the f1 crossmember meeting the top of the frame the engine slopes up 5 degrees. I think I am going to section the middle of F1 crossmember where the trans mounts to bring the trans down so that the engine is level to the ground, it makes the back of the trans slightly higher than the pinion and makes for a good relationship between the two. I also got the 33 commercial dash fitted and the front crank pulley chopped and front crossmember modified to fit. ( thanks J Scow) Unfortunately the pulley on the motor appears junk as the notch for the key is all messed up.

I almost forgot, I got the middle row seat out of a 2004 dodge caravan. It folds forward and reclines. I know it's not (PC) but I can't justify $250 for a original that needs recovering when this was 30 bucks and has more functionality. I'm going to run it with a canvas seat cover for now, but I want to cover it in brown leather later on. I plan on mounting it on adjustable brackets, so it will be off the floor.

nosurf did that in his coupe and threw a mexi blanket over it, and it's fairly indiscernible. it's a good low buck solution. as for the leather, i found a great old brown leather couch on the side of the road the other day, and it's going to be the cover for my 34 seat. keep an eye on craigslist in the free section, you never know what you might find.

Does anyone have a opinion as to what angle the engine should be set at with a torque tube? I've read all sorts threads on it. But nothing that covers just a single u joint and the hot rod rake. Basically what I am wonder is Should I have it level to the frame or level to the ground? If I have it level in the frame I am worried about the u joint angle and having it level to the ground I am worried about the wishbone on the p***enger side hitting the oil pan. Does any of this matter. I just want to make sure before I start cutting stuff.

I'm not sure as to the "correct" angle of the engine.... I set the carb base on my intake level with the ground on mine. That way I have no fuel delivery issues. Thats what I've always read, and been told.

Thanks Tank, I went with level to the ground. I'm waiting on a few parts to finalize things, but at least I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....then we get to take it all back apart and start painting.

Yeah, I've got a huge update coming. I could post half of it, but it wouldn't make much sense...anyways I'm writing it and getting all the pictures in order. I should hopefully have that up soon.

Ahh, they're rib runners aren't they? That's cool! I just sold Chris a set of tires and they look great if it's any indication.

    Yep 5.00x16 and 7.50x 16 rears

I had a hard time deciding to either run the ribbed fronts or the fronts to match the rear....I don't really think they are pre-1950 style.....as about the earliest I have seen the ribbed fronts are about 52.....But I like them so what the hell....

Yeah those are gonna look great! I'm sure the reason most examples you're seeing didn't have ribbed is because most guys were running 6.00's or the like because that's what came on a 16" wheel. On my 33 I might run 16" motorcycle tires up front in conjunction with the 17" wheels out back. Not all the time but maybe to switch it up.

Those are gonna look great man!! Hurry up and fix those wheels so you can get them mounted.

Yep, that's why I have the wires too. I'm going to get a set of 600x16 for the fronts and be able to switch back and forth.

C&G Ford is in California, they carry nearly all the same parts as Macs but the shipping time is only a couple days.

Work is kicking my ****, As soon as I get done with one, another car moves into the bay and more keep coming. I've just been too busy working on other peoples stuff to post. Hey Man, Wish you all the best in getting your "A" Coupe on the road. I hope to have mine on the road by Jun (local car show). If not, maybe have it towed to the show. Maybe also take it to El Mirage in May.
