  5. this car was owned by a good friend of mine a few years back before it went back to the U.S and got restored, Who would believe it was raced as a mud bogger back before it was "saved"??

A Canadian contacted me some years ago about pics I took of the TMP that were on our short lived South Glens Falls website.Said he was going to restore it.Sent him copies and a copy of the track handout promoting the race with Ronnie Sox.
So the car is back in the USA?
Did he ever get any of the restoration done?

  7. The car is back in the U.S now, has been for a few years now, slips my mind as to just where he said it went to though. I remember him telling me the car was well on its way to full restoration last time we had talked about it. Its one of those cars that I should have never let get away. I'll make a call tmw to see if I can get any more info.

Hans Anderson lives right down the road here.....He's 73 now...excellent health and still racing

    I build 426 Hemis for him....goes 8.30's@167 in a 1972 Vega bodied car
No electronics,no nitrous and foot braking it
2x4's on gas and also plays with a stack injetor on alky and a 727 torque flight

He's building a new car as we speak.....lighter...wants to run in the 7's

Good to hear Hans is still going strong.Sounds like a great guy and you build a strong motor.
Here are some pics I took at South Glens Falls Dragway,June 19,1966.
Hans might remember this place.Outlaw, dirt pits, divided lanes, shady operators.:)

Don't know why the pics are spaced so far apart.
Computers never fail to make a fool of me.

In 1966, Fitzgerald removed this all steel Fiat shell and mounted a fiberglass Bantam body ran Anaheim Speed Center. Bored/stroke 327 flew, beating many a Chrysler simply because it only hazed the tires, and didnt emulsify them like the 392's.

  21. Here is a Polaroid that I took as a young boy in the pits at Coon Rapids Raceway in Minnesota. I proudly wrote on the bottom of the pic as you can see. Probably taken around '68 .

[IMG]This car went from Al Graeber to Al Hanna and run as the Phantam. Hanna would also buy Graeber's 68 Charger and run that as the Eastern Raider,

Who was it in a rear engine car that ran over his leg when he slipped watering down for a burnout?
A mind is a terrible thing to loose......... Tom S. in Tn.

BTW, I got Ernie Duckett's name wrong and misstated Harold Dutton in the earlier post instead. Harold was a premier Mid-Tn. Mopar Super/Stocker man. Sorry for the mistake. It comes back to me with time.

Hans has told me the story of the shady operators......and the short shutdown
That meet paid $2000 to win.....quite a problem getting paid afterwards he told me
Turns out he was the only one who collected....everybody else got stiffed!!
Man that was a ton of money back then....

Hans has made every tab, bracket, every chassis bend ...everthing, On his new car...just like the old days
The new car is Dodge bodied....being built from all new sheet metal that he bought over the counter new in 1970-72......its a Colt or Something little like that

Its getting painted the same color Gold as on my dragster...
And its getting "The Golden Chariot" on the door again:D

He"s starting off the year in the Vega but the new car will debut by mid summer at latest

I hope I have at least half his energy when Im his age,
He still runs his appliance store and still does service calls every day

    He's a trip....Great Guy..do anything for ya

    Tony
