    Exactly what I was thinking! Buff it out and add a SCTA push bar. Little lettering to tell them who you are, and away you go. Thanks for posting!

    Land Speed racers used more then just trucks. What ever was handy often did the pushing, cars, trucks, wagons, and even customs :eek:

    In the '70s, there was a drive in restaurant (John's Drive In) that was revisited by some friends and myself. Thursday night was 'Fifties Nite'.
    One summer night a customer of mine turned into the driveway, and was stopped short.
    The 'host' refused his '48 Ford F1 admission for a double-stacked front bumper, with a wooden center pad. "That ain't 'fifties..." he growled.

    Truth be told, the truck had just returned from the Dry Lakes, where it did duty pushing various SCTA roadsters to start... (another 'fifties' travesty.)

  21. ...man, these are some great old pictures; I've always loved the Bonneville articles in the old Hot Rod magazines just to see the push trucks in the background.
