Wow Andy, Don't know how I missed out on 41 pages of work before I saw this, I have tapped the subscribe button. I'm gonna blame Steve (koolkemp) for not keeping me in the loop. I have possibly the only more hacked up Buick in Canada than you,ha,ha... Very nice workmanship, chop looks right on, nice profile, not over chopped...Was worried about the smaller Chevy window before hand but think it looks great here now.......Figured that the missing Buick wrapped rear window would look odd missing from the equation but turns out it doesn't need to be there at all.
Hey Steveo, how ya keepin buddy? Missing the Dodgem car yet? You should hop in the car and beeline it to Toronto tonight for Mega Speed, I think we may just have a decent new owner with a promising show by the sound of things....
hay that looks good.. always nice to put them outside and get back 20 feet and look at them from all angles.. you see stuff you dont see close up..

Welcome . Comments good or bad are always appreciated . Let me know if you see something screwy. Andy.. Hey Chris glad you found me . As I said to Dirt T opinions are always welcomed . It keeps us from straying to far off the path !!! Thanks Hivolt . How is work comin on the truck ?? I will have to check your thread out . Andy.. You know it Steve . Spring is in the air . Wont have to be locked away in a closed garage for much longer . Thats for sure Fitzee . Garage this weekend ?? Oh , The name has been explained . I just asked the question that everyone was thinkin . Andy..
Still watching in silence . I won t say it s a nice job, it s already done many times We quite have no more snow, I hope it s the same for you. Working with sunshine is nice
Thanks Nali . Our snow is down to about 1 foot left on the ground . I think we will be snowless by the end of the month . I hope anyways .
A little more fine tuning of the passenger side C panel and then to the drivers side to do it all over again . the last couple are of how far I was able to get to today . There wont be much if any progress in the next little while as a paying customer showed up at the shop. I need to rebuild the front clip of a 98 Honda Accord . The old fella run into the back of a F-250 . I needed a break anyways . Do something different for a while and make some $$$$ while I am at it . I will then head off to that junkyard I mentioned a few posts back . The snow should be pretty much gone in the next couple weeks . Hope so anyways . Andy...
Your right on that Steve . Lots of grinding and metal finishing to go though . Thanks for the positive comments boys . Andy..
Well got the customers Honda all fixed up and out the door . Thought I would have some half decent cash for the Buick buuuttt there is always something to keep the dogs tail short . My explorer decided it was time to give up 2 U joints and while it was at it it puked the rear caliper on the drive side . Long and short of it said done 400.00 before its all back together . If I am lucky I will be able to have 150.00 - 200.00 of my $$ from the recent Honda job that I can roll into the Buick . Better that then none at all I guess . Anyway , back to the Buick . I got away from the chop for a bit and decided to tackle the front sheetmetal mock up . The body is sitting low in the back and high in to front hence the front to back rake . I will eventually fix this as well but I have the door gap on the passenger side fitting pretty good but the rad support is hitting the steering box on the drive side . I will have to modify the support a bit but not to much from what I can see as this point anyways that way I can shift the whole front end to the drive side for better fender fitment . The hood is fitting pretty good at this juncture anyways . it will be better when I can modify the rad support a bit . Starting to look like a car again . Andy ...
Got back the the Buick today . I filled the old buick medallion hole front and center . It was a huge hole . 8X4 . I did not take any pics of this or another project I was doing . It was to make up the mounts that hold the front sheetmetal to the frame .Without going into detail the front of the clip is very solid now . I had to repair and hammer / dolly the front splashpan into shape as well . Does anybody know where to buy 5/16 cage nuts ??? Anyway tomorrow I hope to have some kind of mount made to hold the bumper in the correct place . Also the whole bumper assembly mocked together and in place . We'll see what tomorrow brings . Later , Andy...
www.mcfadden-dale.com has those 5/16 cage nuts you're looking for. Any type of fastener you can think of, they have it.
Thanks for the info , but unless i am calling them by the wrong name , I cant seem to see any on their website ??? Go figure !!
Well its been a few days to say the least since my last post . Pretty busy with other stuff . I was able to free a little time and worked on the rear pan . I am moving the rear bumper position back 3 - 4 inches and the I will cut and stretch the rear quarterpanel out over the bumper to lengthen the appearance of the Buick .I welded the pieces together and then past the shrinking disc over the area to get it back into shape . They are worth their weight in gold . I believe the stock pans wer 3 inches wide at their widest but this pan is 6.5 inches . There will be a considerable amount of stretch to the quaterpanel . Andy..
A couple of random pictures of the front end semi mocked up . I am having no luck in locating a mustache trim and fender extensions in my neck of the woods . I am starting to get nervous !!! Andy..
I am thinking on it nali , if I do that type of customizing I wouldn't need to purchase or bother looking anymore for that trim !! It may be the way I have to go . Thanks Jimmy But you have a lot more of the mechanical side of things going for you . Once its all mocked up then its back to blowing the whole car apart , finishing the floor , finding suitable seats, eletrical , bodywork yada , yada , yada . I think you get my drift , LOL Later , Andy..
