Seeing it all in one color, even grey primer, must be pretty satisfying. Happy Birthday kid!

Steve, seeing your car in one color and knowing how much you like sedan deliveries I whipped up this version of your car. 'Course I'm not trying to suggest going in this direction, maybe on the next one :D

    Aw man!
You do realize what you just did?
You showed Steve something he could do to change the car .. again!
Now we'll never see it on the road. ;)
Please, no one show him how it would look with wings and a prop.

Neat rendering though. You sure know your way around those graphics programs.

Thanks Joe and Jim. I thought Steve might have seen this by now, maybe he's too busy converting the car to a sedan delivery to comment. Uh oh! :D

Haha ya dirty bastard Eli what did ya go and do that for :p !!

He is good with the graphics but more importantly he has a good imagination for what looks cool...not related to Harley Earl are ya Eli?!

    Too late !!

Thanks Farmer! It really is cool to see it, I put the skirts on last night, looks even better! When I am bored and in the shop at work I have been opening up the thread and staring at the pics lol

Nah I was stripping the front fenders last night ,fun times haha ! The funny thing is a buddy has an old (58?) International panel van, kinda suburban llike body, and I am gonna rob the roof off it this spring...just gotta decide what body to use it on :D . I was actually gonna ask you if you would do up a couple of renderings for me...I have that ol 50 Meteor (ford) 4 door parts car and a pair of tudor doors, and another s10 frame that was givin to me, the frame on the Ford is swiss cheese rotten. I am thinking about taking a weekend this spring and tacking together the start of a project to sell to generate some cash for rusty....although I will prolly end up wanting to keep it. Or using it to start the quick and dirty year round beater that rusty started out as...heres the thoughts that have been filling my head for the last couple of weeks...

1 . Sedan delivery ,using tudor doors, not chopped potential keeper /beater.

    2. Sedan delivery chopped and slammed :D try and sell it..

3 Ute , 3 window using longer doors and pieces of 4 door doors to slant/re-angle the B pillar, similar to Billy Gibbons copperhead 3 window, I have the back window area from the 47 4 door roof , same glass the Aussies used on the ute's...this could also be chopped ..

    4. Flatbed...this would be a keeper beater driver...it would be too ugly to sell lol, use longer doors , cut it in half to make a pick up cab, flat bed , or eventually use a cool rear end off of ? to make a box for it. The chassis I have is a long one so the wheelbase could be played around with for better proportions or left as a stock ford..either way part of the goal is to turn 2 yard eyesores into 1 ! Are you up for the challenge(s) Eli ?

Of coarse if I make it a Ute I could use that International roof to make a full kustom chopped Merc sedan delivery....

    Oh no!!!
    He's on the loose!
    Run!
    Hide the cutoff wheels.
    ;)
As I recall... the roof on the International was huge. Plenty of material to work with but had some healthy ribs.
Utes look great, Steve. That's my vote.

Give Eli 10 minutes and he'll have some great ideas done up. ;)

Have you done anything much with that English wheel yet?

I'm going to be traveling past your area on Tuesday and back next Saturday.
I'll shoot you a pm or something first but I wouldn't mind stopping in on the way back if you are around.

    Joe

Give Eli 10 minutes and you'll have another 10 years of work, is more like it !

Reminder for me : never post a pic of my current old Yamaha café racer .... if Eli gets hold of that i'll have to oblige and it will be on on my hands until i'm 60.

Oh man y'all had me laughing my ass off with your comments! Thanks so much, this is what makes the photoshopping so much fun! No, I'm not related to Harley Earl, but my Dads name is Earl and he did have a '48 Harley. :D
Steve post a pic of your Meteor and I'll put together all your ideas, sounds like a killer project and a lot of fun to bring to life! I'm really looking forward to it!
Hermit I've never done a bike but if you have a pic send it to me and I'll do my best to keep you busy. Eli

It loooks better than it is, it sat about 100 ft from the ocean for yrs, everything underneath is rotten ...just my style :p. I basically got it for nothing (bought 2 windows for the shop and he threw in the car...or vise versa !) I have scrounged up some better fenders, hood, trunklid, and even a nice meteor grille surround, so I have enough crap to try and do something with it, fool that I am!!

Didnt get a whole pile done this weekend, today was a write off, but on Fri I got both of the front fenders stripped, soaked with phosphoric acid and wiped down, should keep them clean till I pull the front clip to blast it...[IMG]

And I got a functional trunk latch set up, needs some finish welding, and install the release cable and find some struts to help it open..

The latch is from an old Saturn...early 90's I think...who would have thought that there was actually something useful on a junk Saturn :D

You say that today might not have been a productive one but it sure looks like yesterday was!
    Good stuff.
I'm glad your pictures look straight! The ones that flatheadfever took made me worried that these new glasses of mine were defective or you were doing some new change to the beast!
They are cool, artsy pics though, L. ;)
