OKAY, this is so easy... Go to La GROCERIA, $1 store, party store or any cheap toy isle and find yourself a few of those plastic bagged jump ropes. Cut the plastic handles off and slide the colorful, braided covering off of the polyester core. You can probably see where this going.... Next you take your new cut to fit plug wires and slide a slightly longer than the wire length piece of sheathing to the end with the plug boot already installed. Next cut a length of black heat shrink tubing (maybe 2 inches) and slide it down and half way over the plug boot and CAREFULLY heat the heat-shrink tubing to snug it up. Slide another length of heat shrink on and install the plug receptacle and boot, then repeat the heat shrink procedure and you're done. Doubt this stuff is fire resistant so keep that in mind. Also, if the colors are a bit too bold, you can dye the woven braided stuff and the different colors that the covering came in will yield a nice blend of colors after being dyed, albeit, more muted. Anybody actually try this, I'd sure like to see the results! Embrace your faux-traditionalist hot rodder.
so...did your daughter find out what happened to her jump rope? it actually looks like the real deal...
No daughter. I was drawn to the Hot Wheel isle and saw what I thought was antique plug wires in a bag...only to realize they were jump ropes.
I'm confused , either your parts store has a toy isle. Or your box store has car parts in the toy isle .
