Here in south FL the price to "enter your car" is commonly $20 to $25 if you pre-register or $25-$30 if you show up and register at the show. Is that the going rate in other parts of the country?

About the same here on the south left coast, if they throw in a T-shirt figure a little more.

Same in the NW unless indoors, T shirt etc. I always pay the entry fee even if I am not showing the car, I hate door dings in the parking lot no matter what I'm driving, the entry supports the club, I get a shirt and if it's not a car I'm showing they usually have a corner to hide it in.:D

hmm...you and your wife go out for a 2 hour movie and spend $25.00

You get to spend an entire day at a car show with your friends for the same $25.00

    No brainer...

Usually $15 pre, and $20 at the show from what I saw last summer. I wish they'd change it and drop the trophies to keep the price down, but the trophy******s would have a fit i they did!

I just paid $42 for pre-reg for a show includes T-shirt but it's in Santa Barbara so I guess their costs are higher.

I paid $40 for for the local show this past weekend, included shirt.

$15 to $25 with "T" shirt...interesting, the Ducktail Run in Gas City, In. charges $25 for the weekend with a "T", but only $10 on Saturday without the shirt if you drive in. And a very good show. Lots of good shows in this area.

$25-30 is a typical price for a one day show, if you do the math for what it costs to put on a show and have some left over to donate to a charity, you'll see why.

There are cruise inns here in southwest florida that charge 10-15 dollars just for that and they do have trophies.Buy the way we have folks that go to these just to get a trophie and if they do not get they get tick off. What in the heck can you do with them anyway. I just go for the fun and friendship part.

I know how much it costs to put on a show. I ran the Hunnert Car Pileup for 10 years. $40 car/$18 spectators is crazy. We never charged more than $20 per car (including all of its occupants) or $5 per spectator (kids free). Admission included 3 bands, swap meet area, artists and vendors. The $20 included a $5 off coupon if they wanted to buy a t-shirt. FWIW, in the past 4-5 years we gave away $100k to charity.

Really depend on the size of the show and who is putting it on. My club, the Road Zombies, put our show on in june here in california, it's $10 per person which includes free food, a soft drink and bands and a event poster and we still have enough money left over that we can through another show in january where we invite all local clubs for free, bands included. But there are shows out here that will cost you $60.

Also depends on cost of the the venue. Some places can be insane like Pomona or convention centers, etc...

  20. Most shows here are free ,but the lions club just put one on it was $ 20. The Cruise Paradise 2012 is $40 it is ten days and includes 2 Luau tickets a real good deal.

Very true, but the czars are rulers!
The bench mark for how and what shows are all about.
How is the average family, that sees all these cool hot rods invade their town, supposed to take little Johnny and siblings to the local show when it's 15 plus a head to get in?

I think it was the $40.00 and the "Goodie Bag of*****" (I mean useless*****) and the "it's for a good cause" that made it the last time for me in my small town.

The LOS ANGELES ROADSTER show is FREE if you have a finished, painted roadster.

They feed you on Saturday evening and then give you a nice English made pewter mug on Sunday. ( I have 4 ... and had a great time all 4 times I have made the trip to LA with my 32 roadster ).

It is @ the Pomona Fairgrounds ( not a inexpensive place to rent I imagine ) and they give money to Charity.

  24. The best car show value here in WV is the Charleston Boulevard Rod Run & Doo Wop. $25 for a t-shirt, 2 bar-b-que plate dinners from Quaker Steak on Thursday night, nice dash plaque on a walnut board, three nights of great concerts, swap meet, seminars, women's shopping section and a 4-day car show with 1000 cars and the fireworks finale. www.charlestonwvcarshow.com .

The one here in my home town is free to enter, they even give gas vouchers for those who travel over a certian distance. It's not a big show by any means but it is fun and free.

I would spend 100$ for the roundup if it was that much. But it's that much fun. So maybe shows should focus on being more awesome.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but, just being the devil's advocate, How come we have to pay to show our cars? We have the $$$$'s in them, we are the show. The spectators should have to pay to see our cars. I mean you pay to see Mel Gibson in a movie. He dosen't pay you to watch it! Just food for thought.

We are generally about $15 to $20 here in northern Colorado. You can add about $10 to $15 for a t-shirt. A couple of times last car season, I saw people uping the entry to $25 and $30, but you can see the number of entries dwindle from previous years.
IMO, car entry fees should stay as low as possible. You get a better turn out. Maybe try making some of the cash more off of spectators... there to, keep it reasonable in this economy so that we can all afford to have some fun like the old days.
