The Santa Clara County Fair was always a blast, from checking out the latest models in the RV/Boat showrooms to the rides and games. But toward the end of the evening they would race or have SMASH UP DERBY!!! Yes! :)

Must be a very high volume traffic corner, the older bldgs are staying but the corner keeps changing.

I remember the Wild Mouse ride at Suburban Park in Manlius, NY from when I was a kid. I was told that some kids had been killed riding it. I don't know to this day if that was true or not, but it kept me off it.

  11. In the US, that front end and grille indicate a 1955 Buick Century, but the tail lights appear to be the same as US built cars got in 1956. I know a lot of changes went on with export cars, but this is the first mixed year Buick I have seen. Thanks for posting. It's nice to see a drop top Buick from that era.

  13. Really you just put your hand up under your arm pit and move your elbow up and down and it will sound like a fart .

My family and I were there just before the fire. They had a Tucker on display, probably destroyed.

Muskego beach (later called Dandelion Park) in Wisconsin had this coaster. I rode it and it was scary. One part of the track went over the water and tilted out before returning the other way. Yuppie scum condos are on the site now.

My grandpa started worked for Bonanza back in 50 or 51 and moved from Vegas to Scottsdale in the early 60's. He had a great collection of Bonanza stuff and some even better stories.

When we moved to Southern Spain, there were limits as to what kind of car you could ship over. So some people would go without a vehicle. The good thing was that there was a good buy/sell market amongst the incoming/outgoing military personnel since some of those vehicles there couldnt come back to the US because they wouldnt pass US safety inspections. They were cheap and you basically looked at it like you were renting it for 3 years and then youd turn it over, which is exactly what we did. We had a Citreon and a SEAT 850 (Spanish FIAT).

1950s Citroen. These cars would lift when you turned on the ignition and lower when you shut them off, tripped me out the first time.
