Yes, I'm pretty sure it was a regional thing with the stamp brands. Here in the northeast, Green Stamps was the thing. I also remember gas stations giving out coffee mugs and plates and stuff with gas purcases. Sheesh, today you barely get any gas with your gas purchase!

I would be somewhat reluctant to go to a place called "Failing Service".....

That LUBY Chevrolet dealership brought back memories of my 1st car. It had one of their adverti*****t emblems on its rear panel.

Actual ad from the Lancaster (OH) Eagle-Gazette,
March 4, 1958. "T.V." stamps is how I got my first
baseball glove back in 1963. Damn! Did that
glue taste bad. :p But, maybe it was good luck,
'cause we won the Little League championship
in 1963! I did lick a lot of stamps to get that glove,
but it helped me play left field, and I still have the
wall plaque that says, "H&S Firestone, 1963
Midget League Champs." Now, if I could just get
the glue taste out of my mouth! :(

[Funny thing about Dog's thread: Innocuous,
seemingly "little" things can trigger great memories!
Those crazy, meticulous stamps led to one of the
most inspiring experiences of my boyhood.:)
Playing with an old rag of a glove, I was warming the
bench in early games. When "The Glove" came in
at the service desk of our Super Duper store in Logan,
OH, I went to first string. (NO, it wasn't an EXCALIBUR
but an ANDIA, a brand not made any more.)]

My mom still has a complete set of gl***es and pitcher with the tray to hold it all . You got 1 gl*** with every fill-up at texaco . After you got the whole set they gave you the send off card for the pitcher and tray , of course with a fill up . It's from the late 50's and its got to be worth something because I bet there is not a complete set to be had . Where could you go to get anything out of it .

What do you think these kids are doing? My guess is that they are preparing for a Duncan Yo-Yo contest.
