    It was a cool car.

it was a tunnel rammed 427

The car was owned by my dad it was the car that sparked my love for 50"s hot rods i was a happy camper when my dad would roast the tires :) unfortunately the car was not passed down to me ha. the new owner tricked it out in black.
it was sold years latter and never seen again :(

I'm only half way through the thread, obviously, but the above comment made me think of my dad. He had a buddy, Jeff Boldt, who drove a '52 Chevy business coupe with a dual-quad 265 and a four-speed. I've never seen a pic, but I think it ran triple-band redlines and Cragar G/T wheels. This was all circa 1965.

    So, whenever I see a '49-'52 Chevrolet, that's what I'm thinking.

From R&C...take the caps off and this would be perfection.

...and you would be correct FalconGeorge...

  9. You're in my head again Jimmy.
This is what I was thinking about beginning a search for, a '48-'50 Olds, Rocket 88!
preferably black and this is the direction I'd go with the 'refurbishment', so to speak.
Two door coupe or, better yet, a Sedanette.

Unless a pick-up shows up on my door step first.

  10. Kind of a mixture..but I think it qualifies as a hotrod...1950 Deluxe

Jeem is receipe that simple. hard lowering on a rake, a simple set of painted steelies and whitewalls..

I dig the ride you posted, (might be a tad to low in front for a hotrod...vs a future mild custom) and maybe it needs some carbs showing (if you are running hoodless). it is an inexpensive way to get there.

I think the recipe is pretty simple for a lot of genres of hot rods or customs in regards to eras and regions etc.. It's always cool to mix it up as much as possible while sticking to an ideal.

I'm with you though, this one probably has those dreaded airbags! haha And yeah, some carbs hanging out a bit would have been a bonus.

Embarrassed I can't pick the exact year ...both are super, but that '56 (or '55) is the one I was speaking of....every time I see it on here I think the same thing...
    Cheers......

No shame on you regarding the years. The dark one is a '51 pretending to be a '50 (50Fraud), and the light one is a '56 disguised as a '55. In both cases I prefer the later top but the earlier trim.

    Thanks again.

Oh man that '56 is nice! I can just see that with a hot FE and toploader, surprising the hell out of people at the stop light! What drive train are you running?
