That's a one-piece bumper on the front of that '58 Chevy...a desirable piece for Chevy owners.

Fabulous truck. A camper? A living room inside the old tank? Great!
Just keep posting more pictures of this tanker, please.

Gold king mine... What's that for a thing?

The so-called California bumpers were also very common in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

It was an actual working mine back in the day. Now its just a museum with a bunch of old trucks and equiptment sitting there, its my favorite place to go. Jerome is a neat old mining town.

Here are some pictures I've taken while walking around a recently re-opened yard in Georgia. It hasn't been open to the public since the 70's. The same family has owned it since the 30's. The former owner's son has inherited the property and is in the process of crushing EVERYTHING! He has been kind enough to let anyone that wants to walk around and buy almost anything. He is also selling cars at straight scrap prices. At the rate of crushing, I would say everything will be gone in another month or so.

Here's a link to my Youtube page. I have some videos on there that I took of this place. Well worth watching. This place is like a car guys dream.

  16. The "maybe tractor" was indeed a tractor . Either a B or C Model Allis Chalmers dating from about 1940.

  17. It would be cool to see Snap On Tools recreate this for their trucks. Maybe not the whole heard but a just a few. If not for actually delivery but for advertisement at the annual tool convention or SEMA. There has to be a few good shells for these out there.

I love and hate this thread at the same time BTW!:D:mad::D

The Gold King Mine, when Don showed up at one of Ca truck shows back in the mid 90's we had never seen this man before, towards the end of the day we asked him just what the hell he did, his answer, I mine the tourists pockets for that fooooolding gold, and turns around and walks off, leaves two of us standing there wondering what the hell he just told us, he later explained that he had the old mine and it was set up a s a museum, we infact toured it when we had a show in Phoenix in "98", and just a few months ago he ran here thru town and gave me a call we met up at the donut shop show for a bit.

^ Mostly twisted scrap metal at that point, but there seems to be some good chrome bits & fenders (etc) you can pull off and sell as parts.
