They're driving a Kelson Electric Sports Rider, built by Kelsen Manufacturing Co.of Stanton, CA. AnneMargret had a personal one for use on the studio lot that was customized by George Barris and finished with gold leaf. See more about the Sports Rider on my blog at http://Autoette.blogspot.com.

We drove through Monroe quite a bit in the late 60s and early 70s to go to the cabin. The green 69 Skylark could be grandpa's car...maybe.

Wow! Defiance Ohio is my home town. After WW2 My dad loaned "Shorty" Derrow a set of tools so he could open his first garage. I spent a large part of my youth hanging out around the dealership in that picture.

The background building was the local National Guard armory.

    Thanks for the memories.

Just viewed the film "A Majority Of One" starring Roselin Russel and Alec Guiness. These cars were in the film, plus a gull wing Mercedes and a Ford Galaxie.

    Nordberg Radial Industrial Engines

  25. I am guessing that radial is a nine cylinder ..... most rotary engines have a odd number of cylinders .... learned that here!

  26. Doesn't appear Buellton has changed much. That's Anderson's in the photo of Anderson's Split Pea Soup fame. "All you can eat Split Pea Soup". Just what you need on a road trip out in the middle on nowhere...

I'm going to save this picture and check it out next time I'm up that way.

Wow! Good Lord, Twin! Where in the hell did you turn up this pic? Amazing, on several
    levels!

They would have still been calling themselves the Silver Beatles, I think, in 1960. Was
this their FIRST road trip to Germany? I see Pete, but who's the guy with the bass, at
right? And that leaves John, George and Paul on six-strings. Wow? Maybe George
    couldn't quite yet handle full-time lead?

Sorry for so many questions. Just an awesome -- obviously rare -- photo! Thanks, TWIN!:D

And, CONGRATS, Deuce, on over 60 years with your lovely wife! Hell, I
thought I was doing well last July making 40 ... and my lady still hasn't
shot me in my sleep! :D LOL.
