Did we throw away the rules to posting on this site? Every day on just about every ad you see a post stating "PM SENT" on ad. This is by members of every statis on this site. Whats up with this? Is this some way to claim 1st dibs on item for sale. If there are new rules please post so I can play to.

    Nothing has changed.

We keep asking for people to Report anything they see that does not belong.

  15. Funny the older I get the more I tend to read rules and instructions. I guess I just overlook those who don't, no biggie.

NO - you can't. Just report it and a Moderator will delete the ad.

Nothing in the rules have changed fella's.

Just more people who don't read the rules or many who have been on here a while who forget or don't care.

Doing business only by PM's leaves many questions unanswered, hence posting in the ad for answers. If a seller had to communicate only in the post, no PMing or emailing, then sellers are forced to maintain their ad. This would keep ads like the one above from needlessly clogging up the classifieds by people asking questions when the seller isn't even active anymore. But rules are rules.......

awwww....ill shut up before i get in trouble...

  27. I have been guilty of the PM sent response a few times also but, I always go in & delete it after I get in contact with the seller.

I will never understand why some of the FNG's will post a for sale ad when they don't even know what a PM is..... much less having gone in & set up any controls to notify themselves when they do get a PM.

A "PM sent" post alerts them into checking out how the PM system works around here.

Don't forget about the guys that post a for sale ad & then they don't log back in for a month after posting the ad.

If it is that important that no responses are to be posted on the ads..... why can't you lock all the ad topics by default or give the author of the ad the ability to lock the topic so no responses can be made in the first place ?
