Same entry fee, $25 per person, racing or showing no extra charge. Same rules, racing for 1954 and earlier vehicles. Still working on a host hotel. At least with the 1/8 mile times the cars will seem fast! I went 2 years ago in Fontucky and had a good time, Irwindale's quite a bit closer, might have to go again this year.

    We go by strip rules, but I don't know what that means yet. In the quarter mile if you ran quicker than 13.99 you needed an NHRA approved roll bar. It seemed that the slower your car, the more lenient they were.

    Irwindale was/is closed but the management had a meeting with the property owners and have permission to run two events, ours and a VW event.

    The rules are simple.
    1-Seat belts(Lap belts are good enough) Racing belts must be up to date.
    2-Battery must by strapped down(they suggest the min.3/8 bolts).If battery is in the trunk,they suggest to be in a battery box and a cut off switch at the rear.
    3-Radiator overflow catch can.
    4- In the 1/8 mile.If your quicker than 8.3's(13's in 1/4) a helmet is required."SNELL APPROVED" I think it cant be older than 2003 or 05.

    I know there is more, but these are the more critical ones they check.

    Other things;
    Must have all windows.
    No openings from the firewall or floor pan.
    All lug nuts on your wheels.

    Hope that helps.

    Emperor, yes they are on!

    Frank Dog, need to add that full length pants are required, and last time we needed a helmet no matter how slow we were.

    The strip tells us helmets must be 05 or newer. The strip is hard to get real answers from but we have a permit from the City of Irwindale like the permit that Moon Eyes gets when the run the jet car, so although no one will give a definite answer, I believe we can run open headers and dragsters?
