Yup, been searching for 8 years now with no luck. Those that I have come across were apparently from the very first run that were all GOLD PLATED....as reflected on their swap meet price tags....

...everything else is either totally rotted junk (still with a GOLD PLATED price tag) or nothing at all.

Yeah I can buy a new one...but I want an original to keep that old feel of my Roadster

Well, the "Dust Bowl" got some lights today. I finally got the headlights and the brake light assembly mounted. With a bit of wiring, they should be good to go. These headlights came from Hawaii about 12 years ago and I've never put them on anything yet. They are pretty big and I assume they came off of a truck of some sort. They have the parking lights on top (not on there right now) like a pair of Guide lights and I'm planning on retro-fitting them into signals. The little, glass lenses for them are broke but I think that I can stick them together well enough and then the housing should hold them. The brake light/ taillight combo is an interesting unit. Not 100% sure what it came off of or maybe it's after market but it has signals mounted on the top. I always thought it was kind of cool. Anyways.....On to the seat and the wiring and more deck lid work but she's actually coming along!!

  8. The brake/tail light combo looks a little Mickey Mouse. Pun intended.

I love how this car is coming together.

Great work on your latest progress! I love that taillight assembly....very unique. Don't think it was from anyone manufacturer specifically, most likely an aftermarket deal...but hands down cool! :D

The paint on that body looks pretty good too....tell me your going to buff it out and leave it?

...you don't come by "character" like that everyday!

    Clayton,

I plan on buffing and leaving it. It looks like it was handpainted a coupole of times. The car that the body came from had a shed built around it in the early, 1960's. Had to literally, tear the shed down to get it. It was like they built a crate around it!!

I sure hope you can! It would be a killer photo op to have both '26's side by side on the salt!

...Plus, I finally get the chance to put a face with a screen name after all these years :D

It would be an awesome trip and time for sure!! As far as putting a face to the name, I don't look much better than the old roadster!!!!

Not to mention that the "Dust Bowl" next to your's would only highlight how rough mine really is!! I agree though...would be a cool shot!!!

  17. You find a way, I'll make time. Sounds like a hell of a trip. Always wanted to do it myself.

    Split expenses!!!!!!!!!

I would LOVE to make it out there and I'm really going to see if I can make it happen, even if it's just for a couple of days. It would be a once in a lifetime trip!!

Sololobo- THANKS!! I learned a long time ago that a good fire extiguisher can be worth it's weight in gold!!
