    Still on US soil.

I'm leaning toward silver as well. Sure would like a dark purple wagon but bodywork AND paint AND new interior is no where near in the budget.

Rusty Olds wasn't mentioned on here before he sold.;)
You coming East at all this year??

Not sure but I do know there's approx 25,000 miles on the 350 per Roger. The wagons been in a garage since '83 if I remember correctly.

That would be nice but this year two other peeps in my department took Thanksgiving week off already and next April I'm heading to Australia so its going to be awhile. Why don't you and the other sock fuckers come north? I'm having a PIg Roast here at the house on Friday June 1st, the night before the Sins of Sttel show. Got plenty of room here.

No but I do have my grandmothers picnic basket and a couple other vintage picnic things.:p

You create it sweetie and I will join.

I've got a couple hundred Michigan plates here in the house and in the garage and NOT one 1960 plate. I've got my posse looking so hopefully one will turn up in the next week or two.

I got my cookie mixer back so let Dan know I'm baking tomorrow.:D

    That's an awesome wagon.

Chrome reverses wrapped in wide whites, slight lowering, lots of chrome, dark blue flake top with a lighter blue metallic paint on the body maybe?

    Congrats on her.

Guess that "Cat" was just to big to keep in the bag. Huh.
I would'nt do anything to that interior and I'm pretty sure that painter guy can come up with something that'll work.
Look forward to seeing it,and I'll see you in a few days.

Welcome Denise to the spacious Long Roof crusiers. The Pontiac's are a big favorite of mine.

  12. id go with the chrome reverse

so it has a chevy 350 in it? any plans to put a proper engine in it? a poncho 455 would make it really haul and if you could find a tri-power for it it would give some shock and awe when you open the hood

Double Damn! I was going through a Milk crate of old MI plates last week! Didn't have my '51, but he had a '60

By the way, Denise- your little buddy thinks the wagon is cool, but she's hoping that the part about Big Olds rolling dow the road is an April Fool's joke.

  17. Mighty nice poncho there. And welcome to the Long Roof Club (hope the "FNG" status doesnt wear on ya!) .... consider doing like I did my four-door long roof cruiser .....

First, weld in the back doors ... too many doors just means too many passengers. Pull the rear seat to further insure "moochers" dont tryto pan-handle a ride to the swap meets off you.
Second, go to Ace Hardware and buy a few 2 foot by four foot sheets of tin , pull out your rear-side windows and block em out with the flat tin. (what happens in the rear of the wagon needs to stay in the rear of the wagon.
Third, drive the hell outta it ....

I have done all this "improvements" to my wagon and, dang, never looked back!

  21. I do love the X frames. For wagons it Olds, Buick and Pontiac because you just don't see them. As much as you drive I would suggest a 200r and a slip yoke on the rear shaft.

The 8 lug hubs and rims are real pretty and nice for a restored show car that never sees a lot of miles but not what you want on that car for the miles you run your fun cars. A lot of them got pulled off and replaced with regular drums and five lug wheels when the cars were near new because of the problems they had with them when they were new. If I remember right they got out of round real easy after a couple of hard stops. They were pretty well gone from the "older" Pontiacs that showed up at the dealership I worked in in Waco in the mid 70's.

That said, That wagon is going to be able to haul a lot of cookies cross country and maybe even one of those propane camp stoves with the oven that Costco has for sale to have fresh cookies on the road. It would fit in with the go cart and mini bike.

It should be 213.7 inches long if you want to measure the garage.

looks like something an old lady would drive...oh, wait a minute!

I was within just a few miles of there YESTERDAY with a two-place trailer...and only had one car on! Had I known, it would have been in WI today.

and maybe in MI before you know it

    You should have contacted me!

and whatever you do, stay AWAY from 8-lug wheels. Your tire problems will drive you crazy, and even Diamondback you to stay away.

  25. That's pretty cool,Denise.....You gonna lower it?

I think some supremes would look great on that. I'd say go with 8 lugs if it's a show queen, but seeing as you're gonna put miles on it like an airport limo, I'll second or third the "stay away" thing.

Beautiful car, if it's going to the Jalopy Showdown I'd love to see it, you may have me tied for the longest car there.

You'll be sitting back there with ME:D

Thanks bud. I haven't search yet but I'm assuming there is an active long roof social club here on the HAMB??

I just had a gas guzzling 455 for 12 years. A nice, average 350 that gets decent mileage will be a pleasent change for awhile.

Thanks sweetie! As soon as I bought it I thought of you and hope that one day soon you and I will be parked next to each other at an event with our wagons.

Tell her that she and I can eat an ice cream cone in the very back seat while you cruise us around next year in Indy.:D

Yikes, I actually like people and I'm really looking forward to hauling friends and family around and having fun with them in the wagon this summer.

    You got that right!

Big Chief.....I like it. I was thinking of Big Blue but if I change the color down the road then that name would really suck.:D

Sounds perfect and as soon as I dig up some more money outta the backyard I'm on it.:D

Less then 18 feet, it will fine in my 22 foot garage.

    Thanks

    Eventually

It's for sure going to the Jalopy Showdown. Can't wait to show it to you there.

Thanks for stopping by sweetie. It was great seeing you again and hanging out.
