I know. While I get it that the owners have the right to let them sit because they own them, sometimes it just doesn't make good sense. I bet 90% of them will simply become so bad some day they will not even be worth crushing. How many times have we all seen that exact thing happen?

    Very sad. :(

I kind thought along those lines to, until I had a handfull of late 40's / early 50's 2 doors for sale , Everyone wants parts , that gets old , some guys will pay half your asking price ( mine are cheap ) for 1 part ! Whae I ask about buying a car I don't have the nerve to ask If i can buy part of it!

A couple of shots from my neighborhood, behind a treeline that you cannot see from the road

Here are some "Iron Ghosts" I found today down in SC. There wasn't much salvageable from anything, but there was a ton of it (if that makes any sense). I spent the afternoon walking around in amazement, looking at forgotten Studes, a Graham "Sharknose" (I know, right?), and my favorite, the 52 Hudson Pacemaker 2-door. (I WILL own one of those someday, AFTER I get my 58 Roadmaster of course.) They were all there in form, but I believe if you would try to move any one of them they would fall apart where they sat. A shame, really. It made me sad to think that these once amazing pieces of machinery were hauled off into a field, and forgotten while a forest grew up around them. This is my way of honoring their days on the roads, and admiring/preserving them long after their lives have ceased. More pics to come...

(My bad... The Olds in pic 3 is intact and in decent shape, and can be had for $1500. Don't quote me on the price, it's what I was told second-hand.)

^ What do you need exactly? There are dozens of them up here. So many I just stopped posting pics since they're getting old.

Absolutely. Anything not surrounded by trees seemed to be in a little bit better condition, and you would probably have better luck finding a part you need on it. That truck being one of them.

I was just up there today going to NPD. We'll have to get up sometime. Our shop is at 4805 S. Tryon, near the airport. Stop in sometime.

That sounds great. I'll bring some lunch by one day once my "OT" Galaxie 500 is back running, that is, if y'all don't mind a '66 taking up a parking space. Hoping THAT will happen soon... (Its been a while in the works.) Always good to meet like-minded individuals around the homefront.

Yes sir, they are! Actually, the two pics above were taken by my buddy Jay on his first visit to Branhams. The others were taken by myself on my first visit last week. Mr. Branham is a really cool guy, and he's got some (at one time) amazing cars there. I wish the majority of them were in better condition. There is a two-door Hudson Pacemaker that I would love to have saved, but I don't think it's within help anymore. I walked around all day Thursday in utter amazement.

  30. Ok after seeing your other pictures I was assured it is. He has got a ton of stuff, have you been to all 3 of his lots? His sign is the best, deffinetly would get some the guys on here excited. That graham sharknose is deffinetly a rare bird. He really is a cool guy. Did you see the blue '50's Buick with all the bumper guards? The 2 '40's/'50's convertibles under the sheds would be cool to have, but just so far gone! The dash that's in my coupe came from in the back of an old school bus body behind his shop. Its a real shame that so much of his stuff is in such bad shape. Im only 30 minutes or so from there. Next time you come down this way hit me up, I'm always up for getting together with fellow Hambers. I have some pic from there somewhere, I'll have to find them to post here.
