Well, it's Friday and that means a day off from work and a chance to get some things done at home since I am way behind with all the rain we had this week.
But first, let's take a look back at my work week and see some of the sights from the back roads of Kansas where we are on the never ending hunt for old tin.

The 59 Buick is at a little town named Jewell.
    The area code is 785.

  11. Beautiful! That's my favorite thing about spring time. The trees and weeds are all still open enough that you can spot treasure from miles away, at least out where it's open country. Once everything leafs out you have to be able to smell the rust to find it!

My goodness PF, you ought to start a sight seeing service. With all the interesting things that you spot in your travels, you probably have the most knowledge of things to see. I loved that old train coach. What was the story behind it?

  13. Thanks for takin' us all along, Paul. :) That yellow Victorian is gorgeous.

Thanks for another interesting back roads ride. Right now I wish that frame and ch***is laying upside down on that 5th wheel flatbed was sitting at my place waiting to be part of my boat tail roadster.

I like the clock on the front of the building. I have been looking for one of those for the front of my building.

    Neat pics.

Are those young eagles, or just giant ravens sitting on the old house in post #4?

    Paul,
I had the pleasure for the second time in 5yrs. of traveling thru Kansas in the early Spring. I continue to be very jealous. I made a fast trip to Amarillo Tx. to look at some old iron, but came back with an empty trailer so I agreed to haul an old John Deere from Fairbury Ne. to the Chicago area to pay for my trip.
I stayed in Liberal Ks. and then worked my way NE to Nebraska. I love the brilliantly green wheat coming up contrasted by the surrounding vegatation still brown from winter. I ran alongside a well-traveled railroad track much of the way so I could enjoy racing trains also. I love the grain elevators that rise up from the flatness. Not to mention all the great old iron.....cars.....trucks.....tractors. But......I'll bet most of them already have your brand on them ! Thanks again for your great pictures and commentary.

that was good stuff. i live in the dallas ft worth area. grew up here. we had a sinclair staion in a small town and your pics remind me of those times. simple. things arent that simple around here anymore. things change and around here you gotta change too. i miss those times though.
