I was tweaking my timing on my 302 this evening....got it all set and was tightening the distributor hold-down clamp. Do I need to shut the engine off to do this?....nah...that distributor is right there next to the fan but I'm way too smart to get my hand near the fan blade. Wrong. The wrench slipped....sent my right hand into the moving fan blade.....tore the hide off my pinky finger and bent my middle finger back until I felt it go "POP". Yep...broke it real good....and skint the hell out of my hand. Guess I won't be doing that again. You'd think I'd know better.
Got my knuckle into the fan of a 289 generator once. Nothing broken just bled a lot. Yep turn 'em off if you are working on them.
i grew up with my dads reminder. he's 80 now and still has three bent digits... yeah... i still mess around near running belts. stupid travels through generations i guess
glad thats all it was. i have seen alot worse.im afraid sometime im gonna get my ponytail caught up in one, so now i tie up my ponytail.lol
My dad always said about hotrods..."it's not yours until you bleed on it" If that's true, then this sucker is mine all over. I've never had a build kick my ass like this one.
Pete Jackson makes a front timing housing to locate your Chevy distributor there! Must be some sense to it...LOL
