I know this may sound stupid but every time I build an engine with all those parts and it starts up and runs its like a magic moment to me, like Ive created life or something. Good luck to you, hope to see it at Bonneville. Keep the smoke inside the motor, not good when it comes out.

Still tuning-second run was 351 hp and 432 torque-a long ways from this engines potential!

    WOHOO Crew.

If 496 is the current number?
    I'm leading, but will loose:)

Okey Buddy & the team, please don't be angry with me if i miss,
but i would stand by my earlier numbers, so i say 482 Hp, no 496 Hp!And 511 ft/lb of torque

Keep it up, big numbers will come!!:D

Not stupid at all. I turned wrenches for a living for over 40 years, never got tired of the rush from firing and engine that not that long ago layed in pieces, hurt and tired. I'd bet that anyone on this site would echo the same feeling. and if it's an unknown quantity like this.........whooee!!

496 @ 5000 rpms, how much boost? Torque?

  20. They were at 7# boost on a previous run. I am sure we will get the whole rundown later from Dale and Buddy.

  25. I've seen some numbers but its not for me to say however its goooooode!
PS thanks for the wonderful day Buddy n Dale!!!!!

  26. I'll let Buddy post the HP numbers - but we stayed conservative and Medusa is one bad ass flathead!

I'll tell this tid bit - about 550 lbs of torque from 4000 to 5500 - peak torque at 4900 of 564.

Buddy will give you the next HP number :D

We did really well today - made the whole last 1.5 years of work worth it.

Now I also have a pic of the final run but I am under strict edict from the Cad master hisself not to let the cat out of the bag but suffice it to say it exceeded my expectations, waiting for the go ahead from Buddy........
A great day for flathead lovers everywhere!!!!!

    Buddy,

When you let the cat out of the horsepower bag let us know the RPM, boost and displacement. It was hard guessing the HP without knowing the bore and stroke. All I know is you started with 346 (I think).

Thanks for including us HAMBsters on your adventure.
