You wouldn't believe where the idea came from !!! I was feeding my marine fish when i suddenly realised the skimmer had a degassing plate to take out the fine bubbles, I thought i could make that work on the Willys !!!
Looks way to hard to me but funnily enough i have a friend that engraves and works for Purdey shotguns .
Langy, I thought you would be making passes over at Santa Pod by now, my Cousin took this pic of a Deuce 5 window over at a cruise night, wondering if you may have any pics of it, the roof looks different than our US versions and was hoping for a better view. Thanks Dave, I don't think i know the owner of that coupe but it looks like it may be a Jago 5W, Jago made these bodies in the 70's but didn't have a US 5W to mould from so he used a cabriolet and i can't remember what roof, Thats why it looks different. Cheers for the thumbs up.
Had a good day between the showers yesterday Flatted off all the rear of the body, while i was there i gapped up the trunklid and sanded the opening returns to the same thickness of a steel car, I had already epoxy primed the trunklid so while it was raining I primed up the trunklid with some Max Meyer Grey 2K primer, I really like the look of the grey. While i was there i addressed the problem that all Willys have, there is no drain in the lower trunk gutter, sorted this by drilling a hole and bonding in a piece of stanless tube with the end squished slightly, works a treat.
Forgot to say i also moved the tank forward a few inches so had to add a bit of floor section, I will retrim the hole when the tank comes back from media blasting.
Steve, have you sidelined your 26 build while you are doing this one, or do you go back and forth between the two ? Don
I'm still working on it Don, I just need to get this one finished first as i'm stuck for space, The 26T was always going to be a long term project due to it being very involved.
For anything performance on that 500 Caddy motor check with MTS in California. Monster torque specialists are at 500cid.com. They can do anything with that or any other Big block Cad engine...And really great guys!
Its all listed earlier in the thread mate, MTS is supplying all the parts for my engines, Marty is a very helpful guy to have onboard this project. Thanks for giving them a free plug !!!
And your saying this Willys isnt involve, you put more thought into one thing then most people put into half their car. Great job on a great car.

Seems a shame to put a licence plate on that trick bracket you made - wow. This may be the most well thought out and executed Willys ever!
Every build is fairly involved Noland but the Willys is by far the easier project, The 26T has a fully polished stainless frame, a tilt body, fully smoothed off engine & trans etc etc, Much more difficult & a lot more effort & work. Thanks for the kind comment.
