onto the door .its been a while been chipping away at a different project so i can free up some space for the frame build. these doors are amazing in my opinion.sooo solid not an ounce of rot besides the surface rust a few extra holes at the top and a few small dents . all finished up ready for the sand blaster
Nice A-body to work with. Looks like its on its way to becoming a... Real Hot Rod... but there will be a Blood initiation .. secret hand shake and p***word. You tell em.... Andy
Flop I arrived in Pittsburgh with a truck full of goodies. Let the frame fabrication begin. Cant wait to see the progress in person!
getting ready for the 32 frame!! come on ralph ill trade ya for the coupe..... one again godddamn is this car solid!! drilled out a ton of henrys rivets still one more pan to go
never worked on one this solid before . usually you can just yank em right out .every rivet needed drilled out and if you dont get the whole head get out comes the hammer and chisel to get the rest of the head off. had about 6 hours in the pans.
Look's like a solid piece of Henry's finest... Hard to beat a Model A on deuce rails... Keep up the good work!!!
ohhh yeah the roller has paid for itself 10 fold as much use as i got out of it !! thanks chop top !! i cant wait to get the frame table set up !! you wanna talk about rivets thunderbirdesq?!? these ones are a pain in the ***!!!!!
nah, those frame rivets are easy. cut the head off with a torch and give it a few taps with a hammer and it falls apart.
I hear ya, I've been working on a real clean 29 sport coupe, same deal... HOURS in taking a stupid floorpan out. I'm used to working on garbage with no floorpans to start with! Ch***is rivets... I grind the heads flush and drill em out. OR, if I'm feelin brave torch em out... either way, you're correct, it ****s!
made a frame table today then i had to put the frame on top asap !! would like to get the crossmembers tacked in before i head to the roundup .
frame on the table .i am a hair over a 16th out on the overall length of the frame.not to shabby in my book . body goes on next to get the wheels sitting in the wells right .
Flop, its looking real good but what even looks better is all the extra room in your shop now that the caddy is gone. It looks like just enough room for a 26 tall T body!
Great project! I was going to ask who sells the patch panels, then read that you made them from scratch. I like that front crossmember you have in the ch***is, who sells them. Bob
thanks 37kid ! Ralph ordered the parts maybe he will chime in . But i think it was from socal . 7 degrees of castor built in .
Thanks! I like the fact that it is designed like the original and fits inside the channel, not welded to boxing plates. Bob
37 kid, Flop is correct. The front crossmember is a socal product. The castor is built in. I think it ran me just under 100 bucks.
thanks matt! does anyone know if the panels are spot welded in as well as bolted I cant get it to budge
