There are plenty of bars in town, but not sure which ones are good, haha. There's a bar called T-Bones right down the street from Coker. There's also a placed called Track 29 that usually has some good music stuff...maybe they have something good going on Saturday.

The Station House restaraunt was really good, had their own microbrewed beer - you can get a sampler w/ 6 half pints of their different brews for like $6 IIRC? It's about a half mile from Honest Charley's over on Market St. - next to the train station - you've heard of the Chattanooga Choo Choo, right?

There are several other bars and diners in the area that are good.

  4. Thanks Gator....sounds like what I'm looking for.

The Station House is great. Live music too. All the waiters/waitress' sing. Pretty cool. Food and drinks are easy to find in the Downtown area, and all close to Coker's. There's a good little watering hole on the same block. :D

Lemme see.. Used to be "Browns tavern around the Tiftonia ridge" was a lot of fun, there'd be blood trails going out the door Friday and Saturday nights. Someone took important bolts loose on half a dozen of our Harleys there. I learned to chain the hood down on my hotrod. Lots of times them visitors there needed parts. I donated a battery once.(why drive ins were so popular) I don't think the building is even there now.

Cotton Patch closed now. (old drive in that served beer) I won many beers on jumping 6 1/2 oz coke bottles with my old chevy.

On the way to our Street drags, Rabbit valley Rd, we'd gather at the Chow Time in Ringgold Ga. Now, that section of 1/4 mile marked off two lane highway is lined with multi-million dollar estates.. don't speed there.

The N Georgia tornadoes from what I heard leveled the place. I've not been up that way for a while now.

The Strip joint was the "Cl***ic Cat", probably something else or gone now.

I guess that is "what was"

You've got the modern "Lookie Lou's" The Tenn Aquarium, And the old ones, Incline railway still goes up Look Out mountain, Rock City At the top for the kids. Chickamauga battlefield if you like Civil war history, At the museum on Hy 27, they have a panoramic projection theater that makes your hands sweat, you can hear the bullets whack and see people fall around you. (Kinda reminds you of Browns tavern)

I'd say the draw to this event is "Honest Charlies". You can always go to Google earth, hit "attractions" and see what comes up. That is always a adventure.

This event is happening rain or shine! Looks like the rain will be out of here by mid afternoon, so hopefully it won't scare too many people away!

Let me be the first to say that this show was a total success. I feel stupid for not taking my camera, but we were really impressed at the amount of quality cars that turned out. Somebody will have pics I'm sure.

We went to the Southside Saloon on the corner, and it didn't take long for food, but it was early on... We weren't too worried about it because the beer was COLD.

I did snap these pics on my phone, but figured somebody would be posting better ones. This little track roadster was perfect. Newest part on the car was the 1946 radiator. Met the owner and he drove it 150 miles to the show at 75-80mph. My favorite by far.

Bring on the good pictures. Gotta be some out there.

I want to thank all of the HAMBer's that came out to the Coker/Honest Charley Cruise In. We had nearly 500 cars, even with a threat of rain! My favorite part about the cruise in is that it wasn't filled with late model Mustangs and stuff....instead it was packed with LOTS and LOTS of really cool hot rods!

  29. Thanks, man! Glad you like the Bridgeport. She's getting stronger and stronger.

It's best to avoid four-lane traffic because folks rubberneck way too much and drive towards the car -- don't need any fenders or wheels on top of the car! So I tend to take less-traveled, slower routes (in this case TN122-US64-TN156-GA299-US11)

So I didn't really do 75-80 getting there but sure did going back home -- got colder than a witch's *** in a br*** bra not far from the house! Rain and wind. Will do "Plan B" and nexst time and stay in 'Nooga.

The next one is September 15th, which ****s because it's the same weekend as Redneck Rumble. The reason for the 15th is because of another Coker event that's going on the same weekend. We'll see how it goes.
