The Merc body is now on the rotisserie so that I can finish some fab & welding on the bottom of the body. Then I have to clean it up and get it ready for prime and paint.

Thanks, I learned alot. Did everything myself and proud of it. Sometimes it would have been nice to have help, and I did...virtual help from the HAMB and all the great HAMBers!

    Hey Joe,

Congrats on your build and the decision to stick with the oem frame et.al. There are too many clipped, butchered & pelt mercs at large as it is.! Your shetmetal work look ''pro-like'' and I'm bettin you learned a bunch of new skills.:)

Still working the body. Fixed the rust damage on both rear wheel tubs. Cleaned and primed the firewall. Getting closer to installing the body on the chassis.

Not very exciting pix to show, but lots of work to get to this point in the project. Rust repair is complete. Bottom of body and inside of body has been cleaned, primed, and painted. Sealed all seams top & bottom of bottom. Chassis is media blasted, primed, and painted. Installed new rubber body mounts on chassis.

FINALLY, installed the body on the chassis!!!

That SC HAMBer that took my money and did not complete this job, can KISS MY A..... I did it without your help, you POS!

    Earl:
I bought them from Green Mountain. Installed the driver side, mocked up the pass side. Have to install the door before I final weld the pass side.

Checkout CARS Inc for outer rockers. They sell them for $299 ea. Look like the Green Mountain without the wait? I was going to buy a set from them for my Cali 50 Merc.

Been doing some fitment checks lately. Installed the driver's side rear quarter panels, door, and fender. Still have some rust repair to accomplish on the bottom of the door.

Last major rust repair task is to fix the bottom and door skins on both doors.

Matt (SlddnMatt) made the patch panels for me. As usual, top notch work from him.

Finally finished installing the insulation/sound deadening material in the interior. Debating whether to use the same product on the inside of the roof.
