I'm rebuilding the front end of my 64 Galaxie and want to replace the worn out springs with new 2" lowering springs. I ordered a pair from Dearborn Classics but said that it would take 6-8 weeks to get them custom made and shipped out to me. Has anyone bought 2" lowering springs anywhere else that didn't have to wait 6-8 weeks to receive? Note: I don't want to cut my original springs because they're worn out and want to keep them incase the 3rd owner wants to put it back together original.

Aerostar springs are what you seek. $60 for a new pair, 2" drop over stock on a Galaxie

What year Aerostar? I am assuming correctly; you're speaking of the Aerostar Ford van, right?

Hey Russco, Thanks for the specs. Sounds like the Aero star coils will work. You think that it will make that much a difference visually as far as the height when all is done?

You should see a nice drop, but the bonus should be a much better ride over your worn out units. ~sololobo~

It should be at least 2 inches plus the free height is so much shorter they are basically just a drop in spring once you get the stockers out of there. NOTE: be careful with those old tall springs when taking them out.

After the Aerostar springs go in, how does it affect the camber? Mine runs a little positive since I am running 79 T-Bird spindles. I hope that it would bring it a little more negative.(wishful thinking)

Just use the part # russco posted, its the same coil for all aerostars i believe. You will need an alignment anytime you change the ride height.

  14. I just put 4000 miles in one jaunt, on a wagon with aerostars.
    Drove/rode like a dream.

I put them on my Edsel now, with Tbird disk.
So easy, its a shame not too.

milner3268 - did your ride height change? I'm wanting them to lower the car 2" or more.

The name derives from being a graphic designer print and web. I also am an artist in the fine arts. The "I" missing from design derives from it not being about me, but God. Thanks for the humor and sorry about the boiled eggs!

  22. Thanks Milner, I forgot about Amazon. I just bought a set today for $41 & change with free shipping and I had a cash back bonus on my card so the whole thing was FREE.:p Now to find free time to stick them in the '59 Galaxie.

  23. Here is the Ranch, My Edsel will be another 3/4" lower due to the disk added.

Dang! That looks awesome! Looks great on the ground...I hope my galaxie will be looking like that. Was it difficult to align? Thanks for posting the pic.

  25. Not my car, so I don't know about the alignment.
I do know it drove really nice, and I was on the road for 2 weeks in it.

Im afraid my Edsel may be too low.
(yes, I'm one of those more go than show guys) ;)
