99% of the true time period correct would include crappy welds and unfinished torched off pieces plus various unsafe measures thru out the car

Great thread. I would like to see Mark Morton's 32 roadster chassis again. It's the black full fendered car from a few years ago at the Hop Up booth. The picture was up for a while and then disappeared. Anybody have it?

I am running another thread and here are some recent pics of the painted and assembled chassis.40 Ford brakes,327/350,triple Rochesters etc.

Will have a 32 roadster body from Show Me Rod & Custom with 2 inch longer doors and cabin,channelled the depth of the rails.

Hopefully body will be painted this week and final assembly started.

F1 steering box's dont really fall into the "truly traditional and period perfect" paradigm either.

 

Depends on the era. There were plenty of F-1 and F-100 boxes in use by the mid to late 50's. Earlier than that...then stock Ford or '37 Hudson and the like would be fitting. But you did see them installed with welded kickouts in the frame, rather that new flanges welded on the box.

I usually imagine the frame painted semi-gloss, but these full-gloss beauties are kinda making me rethink my plans for one of my current projects... really really slick!
