  1. #45070 If I recall, I had a 59 which I loved tooling around is and a good buddy had as 62. The grille in the yellow 45070 car was for a the larger engine version. Now, I racking my brains because this is going back more then 40 years now. I think we bout had 1500cc engines and the other ones had 1700cc. I may be all wrong on this but my buddy ended up going to work for Competition Motors that built all comp sports cars.

Top are German Arado Ar-96 trainers; bottom is another German: Focke-Wulf 189. Neither seem to be in German markings, though (maybe Romanian?) The one in the middle I'm sure is Russian but I don't recall the type.

That is definitely Linda. The photo was taken after the Yankee 300, a USAC Stock Car event on the road course at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1964, which had a lot of NASCAR entrants. Fred Lorenzen won it.

While I was working at IRP in the 90s, Linda "talked" me out of the original print.

Probably Pearson, but in that time period it could be Glotzbach.

In looking more closely at the tailights, I believe the owner is correct that this is a '57 with a MarkII(61-2) grille. The '56-7's had 1500 engines, there was no larger engine and the grille was the same for all the 56-60 cars. In May of '59, the 1600 engine became available and it had front discs. The '61-2 Mark II's got the 1622 engine. There was no 1700 in the MGA's. There was a DOHC engine that became available in '58 but they were clearly badged and had 4 wheel discs and still had the old grille.
