Sorry about quoting my own post, And sorry how this might sound,..... But,.. just to slow down the PM traffic,...

    1. Yes, that is the same unit they used on the original 1957 "Battle Birds"

    2. Yes, I am hanging on to it for the "Blue Racer" B/SR 424. Cause that's what it ran

    3. Nope,.. not for sale,... unless whoever ends up with the Blue Racer doesn't want to step up for it

    4. Yes,... That is my wife's oak kitchen table.

    5. No,.... we will never speak of it ( Item #4):D

  4. Ha ha! you post something like that and you better expect some traffic!

Scored this VS57 McCulloch kit a while back. Was used from '56 - '58, then boxed up and stashed. Appears COMPLETE except for belt. Randy Millard (Henrysnephew)

i just got my first y block, a 292 in my '59 Galaxie. Just got her running after a 35 year sleep, and it sounds lovely. and i have no partas hoarded yet.....
If someone wants to host the video clip I took of her, as I don't have a youtube acct and don't really want one if I can avoid it.

You say "hoarding" like it's a bad thing.

It's all relative. Just check out the TV shows on hoarders that have been on lately. They hoard garbage and feces etc. Check out the filth and piles of trash and tell me it isn't bad.

The Y block hoarding I am referring to is a whole lot healthier and fun :)

  22. Here is a Berry & Chung triple carb intake made in New Zealand in the 60's. They also made 2 styles of valve covers. I hope to run this on my 34 pickup one day, I just have to build the whole truck.

Just three 312's and a standard bore 292... I was putting these Fenton Headers & value covers on my 27 but I want smooth hood sides... so back with the Bird covers and a home brewed exhaust...

Look kinda nice when I wasn't running a hood...

man... I'd have a hard time ditching the fenton headers for the sake of a full hood, but it's your car... how about a pair of blisters? Are the fenton VC's taller than the bird ones? nice car btw.

Not really a Y-Block hoarder. I won't say on this thread what make I hoard.;) But I accidentally came into a complete set of 292 Ford Y-Block FORGED pistons and rings, still in the box. The HAMBer who sold them to me, I believe, sold them in good faith that they would greatly punch out a 330 hi-deck DeSoto Hemi. (Guess I gave myself away.) Later, I ran the geometry and found that it wasn't so. Even in my '55 DeS 291, I'd only gain about six cubic inches. So, I've got some money tied up, and the box is still holding down the garage floor. LOL.:D I guess I need to get my butt in gear and put them on the HAMB Classifieds. I'm sure there's a Y-Block nut out there with some H-beam Buick con rods, ready to start a hipo build.

Good luck, they are probably rarer than the Edelbrock ones I am looking for.
