want to make 15 x4 ford steelie wheels ???

    i want to make 15 x 4 ford 5 on 5 1/2 steel wheels. i do not like the look of 15 x 5 ford steelies with a 135 x15 tire. has any one ever done this ? what hoops do you use? now before i get the " search " bashing i did and i have not been able to find anything. also i checked and eather wheel vintique or ralley american made a 15 x 4 with 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern.thanks for any info . drew

    Space saver hoops have the same I.D. as the early Ford center O.D.?

    Page 2, I ended up with pre 66 VW bug 4" hoops that do not have bead lock ridges, so the hoops look old timey.

    They came out nice, and I use them with 40 smoothy caps with stainless rings

    i thought i measured a vw rim and they were bigger. i have a pile of them behind my shop. i will check it out. thx. drew

    I think on that thread, I said I measured a later 60s early 70 4 lug bug wheel and it was 4.5" wide?

    Anyhow, you need to find the early wide 5 bug wheels without the exposed oval slotted holes like 66/67 had. Look for the wide five bugs with moon hubcap, but no slots showing. those will have no beadlocks, but were tubeless when new.

    Mine are mounted tubeless with firestones and do not leak at the beads, so you don't need beadlocks.
