    I think 10 months....
Still needs a lot of money :)
Only to make the registration and license plates need to have $4500.

Starting a project like mine here in Italy, it's crazy ....:)
That's why my thread is so called :D

    Thanks

    Thanks Shadams,

:) I do not have photos of all the truck because I have not installed the Bed side, rear fender, bed wood, rear bumper, runningboards, upholstery, steering column, steering wheel, ecc :).

Cool, do you have the bed and all that painted too? It's better to take you're time on final assembly that way nothing gets screwed up! Or scratched!
Wow, I'm glad they don't charge that here! Why so much?!

Because Italian law are old and do not allow to register my truck
because I installed a V8 engine. I'll have to make the license plates first in Germany ($3.500), later in Italy ($1000). Unfortunately it is so...:(

  14. Shit! If registering it in Germany first is the easy option, then you guys really have it bad!:(

    Hello everyone,

yesterday I tried to adjust the hood without success.
As you can see in the photo, the hood remains up in the back.
Perhaps we need to adjust this without installing the springs?

Any help will be appreciated :)

    Many thanks

  17. The hood adjustment seems like a simple fix. Did you finally get the glass figured out? Truck is looking sweet. I would like to see how you work the bed floor with all that plumbing and frame kick ups in the way.

    Thanks Nicolas,

I too would like to see the bed :) ... I do not have very clear ideas.

The glass is still there waiting for me...

    Thank you so much

As for the hood adjustment, definitely remove the springs and adjust it with out, it's usually a two person job, after you get as close as you can, tighten it up GOOD and reinstall the springs, sometimes the springs throw it off again, so, good luck. By the way, I really enjoyed the build on your truck. You are quite a craftsman. BILL RINALDI

    Hi Cubby,

the money to do the register are a waste of money but I have no choice.

I think it'll be a nice truck and the people watching him now, is very curious and stop to look

    Thank you so much

HIJACKING THIS THREAD FOR JUST A MOMENT just picked up another one. talkin to a friend sunday and he told me there was a 48 chevy truck for sale by me all in pieces but in decent shape so i had to take a look. yep i bought it and im still not sure why cuz there is no lack of projects. after looking naturally there are no tags on the cab and no titlebut i know its not a 48,its newer. it has a split windshield but has vent windows and no vent on the left cowl and a big emblem on the hood ,no pics yet but if anyone mite knoe what year it could be it would help. if anyone knows where the vin .# is on the frame it would help too thanks for the help.

  26. If it has the vent windows in the doors and turn down style handles it's a 51. If it has vent windows and push button handles it's a 52 or 53 (assuming the grill style is of the 47-53 era.

This should be a 52...or 53. If the doors are original,
chevrolet installed the vent glass after '51.

The vin tag is on the inside of the driver door, but I do not know if it's on the frame

  28. 51 also had vent glass, making it the only year with vent glass and turn down handles.

As far as I know there are no vin or other numbers on the frames of these trucks.

A search will bring up a couple of sites that have either or both engine number and cab tag number information on how to tell the year model of the truck.

There are also a couple of good sites that show identifying items on the trucks as far as year model goes.

Back to the hood adjustment: I hope these aren't too big but they need to be big enough for Orula to read easily.

You can also find them here:

I hope that helps some on the hood.

thanks for all the info. after posting my questions i looked at some pics and narrowed it down to 51 thru 53 but did not know about the door handles so that will help more. just want to get it close so i dont try to title it as the wrong year. post some more pics of this awsome ride from overseas, cant wait to see it finished
