Projects Enough monkeying around: let's build a 5w, or another 4dr bites the big one.

  1. That car looks down right evil, hard enough to get "the look" when you start with a complete car much less start with a sedan and transform it to a coupe. Very nice fucking job Andy !

one more with the hood before I head to the day job... The hood fits really funky on the front passenger side... it had primer around the front edge and after close examination I've come to the conclusion that someone trimmed it to fit a wonky grille shell/radiator at some point. it's gonna need a sliver fit and welded on to look right...damnit...

  15. Looks really good for what you started with. I need to get back at mine. My mind is into it now. I plan to chop my top next month. Are you going to finish your car out nice with paint and threads?

    Thanks Doods!

Dale, my current plan is to drive it in primer this summer, come fall and the weather turns it'll get blown apart for real paint and interior. Yea, it's turned out to be pretty freakin' straight for being a stitched together POS, but it would definitely need some more fine tuning to really look good shiny.

I heard about your old man too, so sorry to hear about that, you have my sincerest condolences.

Got the body bolted down, steering and pedals reinstalled, dash back in, gonna tie up about a thousand loose ends this week and see if she won't light em up!

the list is getting shorter... I see the light, I see the light!

    Install windshield
fuel tank bolted down and plumbed
    battery box
    bolt the seat down
    wire ignition and lights
    decklid still needs blocked out
    bleed the brakes
    fab up a trans cover
a little engine tuning is probably in order...
    VROOOOOOOOM!

No more old trailers for me, in the time it took me to build the "Canned Hamb Project", you built a '34 coupe. I'd say that'll be a little better return on your time than mine! Looks really good, but you're probably tired of hearing that!

Man, I know I just sat here for the last few months watching this come together, but I still cannot believe what you have accomplished in such a short time.

    Respect!

The hood completes the car. Really makes the chop look well balanced and streamlines the entire car but I'm a firm believer that all Model 40's should run hoods. Love it Andy!

Thanks guys, we're getting there! Jon, more than enough room... this thing is like a cad compared to my roadster. Jeff I agree, the hood just really brings these cars together.

This am I patched up the WS frame and got the crank-out mechanism (thanks Jim!) working. This WS frame is really a POS... I'm going to replace it as soon as I can afford to. Two frames came with the car and it took both of them to make one shitty one, hahaha! But it works and will keep the weather out of my face for the time being once I install some glass.

A Little each day keeps the idea of driving new car to The SHowdown away....at least that's what the doc says. I'm going out tonight and tomorrow to hammer away on my '35 so it at least has a shot of making it to the SHowdown!
