I am new to the 32 world and a buddy came across a 32 3 window someone tried to make into a roadster and he wants me to go in with him on it. The roof is missing along with the fenders, motor, and door tops. The rest of the body is complete with the hood and grille. The frame is a complete rolling frame. Whats this thing worth? The guy is asking 10K.

Sorry I don't have picks but it's suppose to be "solid" which we all know solid means many different things to many different people.

  3. I saw one on Cragslist a couple of years ago, in Ohio. The doors had been welded and filled shut. I remember the asking price being around $3k, and the ad ran for a long time.

1949 Packard, no Motor or Trans, Glass gone, Interior Rotten, hood and Trunk Missing, No Bumpers or Grille, Already SOLD DOORS .....Frame Rusted through, dash there...but someone painted with Brush, Heavy coats.
Can be loaded on your Trailer, Bring Tires/ Wheels, almost forgot No rear Axle. but well worth $ 9500. Asking Price. Will Trade for '34 ford 3-window,
that's Driveable. Thanks. "Honest CARR, Used JOHN DEALER " :p

  5. I realize that it's after the fact, but whoever cut the top off of a '32 3-window to make a roadster needs to have his tools confiscated for life.

10K is high, but it is a '32 coupe. I'd try to explain to the seller the amount of work that it would take to get the car back to being a coupe again is going to be expensive, and he's going to have to come down on the price. If you can get him down much lower, then maybe it'll be worth it.

I'm also trying to find a '32-'34 Ford Sedan or Coupe, and nothing is reasonably priced. The days of finding a bargain-priced early Ford are long over.

I'm doing a 32 5w same cut off roof. I built it as a cabriolet.

I would not try to build a 3w out of that deal for 10k,because you will be buried in debt trying to get all the metal you need.

I suppose someone will have to fix that car someday. Everyone except me would hate it if you did a good job as a cabriolet. It would look all wrong for a 32 cabriolet, but it would look like a European custom coachbuilt with the suicide doors.

It will look bad as a roadster no matter how it's done IMO

  10. Looks like 10k. There are some good metal fabricator in Rapid City. They could probably build you a top. The top of the doors too. Maybe somebody has the upper half and a rusted out bottom half. It may take years.

I disagree as I have seen more than one 3W turned roadster, and they are really nice. Tons of interior room as well. Also, with a Duval windscreen I think you would have to admit that they are sleek and sassy lookin'.

That could be one bad ass car.

  13. I actually see 10k after looking at those pics. Not much more, but I belive it's worth the asking price.

How many others can you find on the market at the moment?

  17. Uh, I would give ten grand for that, if I had it. All day long. It's a three window, and it doesn't look like it would be too hard to make it back into a coupe.

Just my opinion, but a coupster in my eyes is worth next to nothing. Never have liked them, they always look wrong.

  19. I'd buy it...then wait for a roof to turn up or hell, with bodys being popped whos to say you could not buy the roof pieces? Is it rusty at all?

If it has a title,it's worth it and I would turn it back into a 3 window,You have a good base to start with.

  21. Just off hand-

    Deck lid- 1k
    quarters- 3-4k
    dash- 1500.00
    frame- 3k
    heavy axle- 500.00
    wishbone- 500.00
    pedlas- 500.00
    grill- 1k
    cowl- 2k
    nice door bottoms- 2k
    title? another grand

floor pan, tail lights, rear end, wheels, headlights, steering column/drop/pitman arm/drag link, seat? gas pedal, springs, perch pins, W/S frame, hood top...I would never part it out, but EVERY PART of that car is worth something. Think about it
It all adds up fast and thats just in chunks.

  22. You guys are all NUTS! I would buy that any day of the week, I wouldnt be changing it back to a coupe either and i think roadsters are for jerks :)

BUT IT you will never regret it!

Didn't I just see an add for a roller frame, the guy was asking $9500. That makes this a swell deal. Throw a SBC in it & drive it as a unique ( dare I say ratrod, very softly...lol).. Ok maybe a survivor of somebody's misguided fantasy car. Brookville stamps the whole side in one piece, I don't know if they will cut it up to sell separate panels. There has got to be a lot of guys that need the quarters & not the top, diddo the cowl panels. Have fun...

This is a no brainer!!.....If you are not going to buy it, I will pay you a finders fee for putting me in contact with the seller. that is as long as I am able to buy it before the seller changes his mind. I know of a couple of roofs, problem is the guys who have them are looking for parts to build them into bodys. That body that "rcnut" on here bought off of ebay a few weeks ago for 3K would be the perfect fix for this car. If you could get him to turn loose of it....LOL

Sounds like a slime ball if he shot you one price then wouldn't honor it and threw it on ebay.

Yeah, that was worth $15K all day long.......remember you never pay too much for a '32 you just bought it too late, they always appreciate in value.

Sorry to hear he got impatient and went to ebay with it, now he will have to deal with the flakes, scammers and nigerians.
