Well I did some selling and buying and came up with this. Probably no to hamb friendly from what Ive been reading but what the heck thought Id show it off anyway. I already got rid of the painted bumpers for chrome and put the 3 chrome strips over the painted grill. Next I am thinling some smoothies whith fat whites and get rid of the side mirrors. It runs like a ****d ape with a SBC with dual quads and 350 Turbo. Anyway here goes.. be nice HAhaha:rolleyes:

I LOVE these '46-'48 coupes! Especially when they're layin' on the ground! I've had several, your's looks pretty f'n sweet!

    What is the suspension setup?

  5. Wheels and tires will go a long way to fix that thing up.

That car has a lot of potential and I like what you have planned. It should look pretty good after a one afternoon personality change.

Sounds like we got ourselves another case of a car getting de-streetrodded. This is a good thing.

The right wheels, some whitewall Firestones and lose that steering wheel and it's going to have a much better vibe.

  8. Nice, that's actually a great color for a late 40s car.
Get her some new shoes and you'll be set.
I did a photo shop, well actually put my thumb over the wheels ofter I drew tires on them and it looks nice.

You have a great car there, and some good ideas. You will be surprised how much the wheel and tire change will make. I like it. Larry

The more I look at your little car, the more I like it and the less I think it would take to "fix" it.

Change the wheels/tires, steering wheel and score some cool valve covers and you are pretty much done. Pretty minor really, considering what some guys have done to un-****afy thier cars.

I bet if you sell the wheels/tires to a muscle car guy, you could buy the wheels you want and have enough left over for a steering wheel and valve covers.

Nice car, you did well. -Abone.

    I'm helping a guy build a '55 chevy,
and he wants wheels like that.
Actually I'd rather have those wheels,
as his choice is even tougher to stomach!

Be sure to post some pictures after you make your changes - I'd like to see it with the tires and wheels you're planning to run. Its sure to be killer.

Looks cool. I'm not a fan of the wide whites, so I'd stick some fat & tall blackwalls on it.

Thats a bad *** car. Love the bags sitting on the ground. Your giant Rapala is pretty cool too.

Any history on your 46? Reason for asking, my brother-in-law built one VERY similiar in Phoenix a few years back,(not those wheels tho'), in went to 'Vegas to a new owner who had it up for sale within a year or two. As i recall it had a Taurus / Sable front seat that did'nt fold to allow access to the rear.

love those 46 coupes, i've been waiting for the "right" one to come along, someday. i agree with the others, a few simple changes and it will be right where it needs to be. good luck with it.

RACECAR!!!! take off the center cap & get some the biggest lug nuts & studs & some big white circles for numbers on the doors. OOoohh I could could see it now. Some white lettering tire would put it over the top!!!

  27. Big/little Halibrands or straight-spoke Americans. Please don't put wide whites and steelies on it. The car is a hot rod, not a custom.

Agreed that thing is bad ***...Sounds like your on the right track but it doesn't need white walls! Halibrands all the way!

Hot rods can't have whitewalls or a rake?

It will look fine with whitewalls. Especially with the 50's turquoise.

Nice car. I would add swapping out the tach to your list too.
