    Getting it together now.. This is where I was really able to see it coming together.. But I seen it built in my head way before I started on it...

    If anyone is now wondering how much the weight is.. All the steel I bought was around 800 Lbs.. With a lot of drop off's.. I'll get to the weight of the car a little later..

    Picture 6 in post 34 shows the underside of the roof - it seems like you'll have a tremendous lever arm for the wind to bend your roof, and not much reinforcement. Can you put a second frame at the bottom of the "C" portion of the roof? That would give you some triangulation and a lot more strength.

    Thanks..Here's some more pictures.. I will post as much as I can today to catch everyone up until where I am as of today.. Still in the middle of so fibergl***ing,, So in between my gl*** work today I will keep posting..

    I didn't want the back to look flat,, So I made a few different angles to give it a little wilder look from the back..

  13. Wow! Very nice work!

    That is, hands-down, the sturdiest C-Cab I have ever seen. Most of the ones built back in the day used the stock T frame and a fibergl*** body, and were "flexi-flyers".

    I love home builds, and you have outstanding vision and skill. Keep posting pictures as you go!

    Thanks for the kind words... It is built good for sure.. I was going to go the fiberg*** route, But changed my mind at the last Min.. This car here was My first try at a hand made car.. All gl***.. Three Mounths before I built this car, I didn't even know how to Mix Fibergl***....LOL..

    A good friend of mine showed me how to do gl*** work,, I then went home and built this car..

    Now keep in mind.. This car is way smaller then it look's in these pictures.. Everyone that comes see it,, The very first thing they say is,, ''It's way smaller then it look's in the picture...

    I have a creeper by it to give you a idea.. And I'm 6' 240 lbs.. And that window behind it is 36''.. This may help you really see the size..

    I was posting so fast I missed your post..Sorry.. I hope what your talking about is now coming together... The roof is also tied into the windshield post.. Plus The side also have a framing below the roof top... I think you may see that now.. Sorry I missed your post...;)

    The pipes coming out the back is not the exhaust pipes..:D

    Here is what them pipes are for...I thought this would set it off and kind of make the back look a little wilder..

    A lot of these homebuilt bodies out of steel end up looking like a dumpster on wheels when done, but not this one. You have done a really nice job on it and kept it stylish and unboxy. :)

    Very nice! It looks like it would be heavier than 800 lbs. I was very surprised.

    Are you going to put seats in the back or make it a delivery wagon?

    I've always thought a C-cab mini RV would be awesome. There's room behind the C-cab-lump in the roof for a luggage rack and possibly a kayak. In my warped imagination, it would also pull an outhouse on wheels. :)

    I've also thought it would be cool on C-cabs to make some sort of fold-up doors out of canvas with flexible fibergl*** tent poles sewn around the edges. They could be stored behind the seats. They could unfold and clip in place, should the weather change or you want to drive it in the winter or maybe even with air conditioning (if you're really handy). However, it's much easier to build in my imagination than in steel.

    Oh, one more thing, there are several 10's of thousands of people here on the HAMB. You may see 3 or more that don't like your car who will write something to that effect. The rest of us like it.

    BTW, get some goggles and make your Kid wear them. As someone who has been to the emergency ward more than once to have steel slivvers ground out of my eyeball, it is NO FUN. :eek:

    Thanks Guy's.. Yes I had to be very careful not to build it boxy..That's why I had to really think about the back end.. I hope everyone will like it when it's all done... If I was going to do another one.. I would have done things a little different... Kept it the same,, Just layed thing down a little more... I guess what I was shooting for was a little mix between the 60's and now.. But that's a find line to watch... So I guess it is what it is... This build is a lot different then any build I ever did.. Like I have built this car before in another Life or something... I know that sounds funny.. But It is..

    The car weight is 2240 with the big block chevy sitting in it.. Like the picture under my name..

    And it will have a custom made bar on the top when it's all done like a luggage rack..

    I know they will have some that don't like it and I fully understand that.. And I don't mine them saying it.. That's their choice.. That's cool... I don't like every car my self.. But I can like it for the hard work that went into it... I know first hand what it takes for someone to build one.. So Even if I don't like it.. My hat's still off to the builder for the hard work he did.. Like I said... It's cool..
    I'm just glade no one ran me out of here... So far it's a cool place with some cool new friends..Thanks..
