This is the room where the black coupe resides. Yes that is a picture window that looks out into the shop.[IMG]

Cool pics! PM me if you want to sell the wheels on the shelf by the gulf sign. Going to build another old school Front Engine Dragster.

This picture shows the two pieces in place. I over sized the panels by 1" for an overlap. I ran them through the bead roller using a step flange die. I don't know how i did this stuff before without a bead roller Now all i have to do is drill the holes and plug weld them in place..[IMG]

I had the chance to do a little more work in the shop this weekend. I welded in the floor boards. The toe boards are installed using screws just like the originals. I'm going to leave them this way until i have the motor and trans in place. I will finish welding them in then.[IMG]

I removed the hinge panel and package tray. This is what was left of the original package tray. [IMG]

This is the new package tray welded to the hinge panel. I also welded the braces on. I purchased this package tray from another willys enthusiast who had installed it in one of his cars. He removed it because he found a nice original one. I cut about 3" off this one and bent the front edge down. I will be attaching another panel to this to seperate the driving compartment from the trunk. [IMG]

Trial fit of new tail panel. Alot of work needs to be done here. I figured that i could just cut out the old panel and pull everything together and make the new panel work. What i should have done was to get the original panel and opening as close as possible before i cut it out. This being an old race car the tail panel was pushed ahead. This caused the sides of the trunk opening to be bowed out. I will have to make up a couple of spreader bars to hold the top and center of the opening at the right width while i adjust the bottom.[IMG]

Nice work Larry. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build. Any track plans for this one?

Nice work. I went back through the entire thread. I wanted to change what I said. Great job turning this Willys body into the nice body it is today.

    Hi John,
We really haven't decided what were going to do with it. If i do keep it i am going to try it on the track for sure.

I picked up this 40 dash. The top had already been repaired but it needed work next to the glovebox door and the bottom of the dash needed to be replaced as shown in the picture.[IMG]

Panel fitted and installed. I reinstalled the door to check the fit. All i have left to do is weld it. I will post more progress pictures as work is completed. Things may be a little slow as this is our busy season.[IMG]

Very nice work. And I know how time consuming it can be. Not the fun part of any project( not for me) but all stuff that has to be done. I just spent 4 or 5 hours on replacing the lower rear quarters on my Chevy II, and when all is said and done, it won't look any different than it did stock.
