Hot Rods Had to have it! Insane 1940 Ford coupe..chopped!

Well I first saw this car a few months ago sitting in a friends personal junk yard, I was drawn to it...couldn't sleep at night thinking about it....just had to have it!!!

There really is no known history on the car but it was done back in the 50's for sure. The top is gas welded, very crudely I might add.

Anyways..its a '40 Ford coupe, chopped about 8" inches and channeled about 10"! Its a total mess but looks BAD ASS! I just had to have it. My pal and I struck a deal, did some horse trading and its mine...all mine!!

I was so excited I forgot to take pics. but im going to pick it up this week and Ill def. get some pics loaded.

The Chanel is what intrigues me most....they torched the firewall free from the cowl and dropped the body down...but left the firewall sticking up just level with the cowl top???


Ill certainly get some pics as soon as I get them.

in the last 2 years? There was a thread where it showed a pic of one. I think was built in Maine, and either it was a missing car that they were looking for, or it was a car they found and looking for info?

It does sound kinda like the one that somebody was looking for. There's an older thread that comes up from time to time by the guy that's looking. At least he DID post one pic that showed the channel was so big that the front tire opening was cut into the top of the fender. Could it be the same NE car?

Pete The car did have an 8 inch chop and a 10 inch channel on the original frame. In the early 70's a camaro clip was grafted on the front. The car had a purple dashboard in the original build early to mid 60's. The car was built in Maine and its where abouts has been lost sense the early 70's.

Pete does your car have a frame and the front sheetmetal ?
